Up-to-the-minute leader board and other scoring information for the 2017 John Deere Classic
July 13-16, TPC Deere Run, Silvis, Illinois
The PGA Tour makes its first of two stops in Illinois this week for the John Deere Classic, played at TPC Deere Run in the Quad Cities community of Silvis, IL. It’s the final event in the Open Championship Qualifying Series, with one remaining spot at Royal Birkdale available to the leading player who is not otherwise exempt who finishes in the top five and ties.
While the John Deere has difficulty attracting the world’s top players as they prepare for the Open Championship, it’s still managed to provide some of the most exciting finishes on the PGA Tour in recent memory. Since the event moved to TPC Deere Run in 2000, it’s been decided in a playoff or by just one stroke 12 times, the most notable coming in 2015 when Jordan Spieth holed out a bunker shot on the 72nd hole to force a playoff, which he would go on to win for his first career victory. Spieth won’t be there this week, but three-time champion Steve Stricker and defending champion Ryan Moore are in the field.
