Golf’s purgatory: Life after 40 on the PGA Tour
Life can be glamorous on the PGA Tour. But golfers who hit their 40s are discovering a hard truth about Tour life.
Big Papi scores big L with ten trillionth terrible Astros take
I almost can't bring myself to do this right now. I didn't sleep well last night. My coffee is turning my stomach. I'm sick to whatever lies beyond death of hearing about the $!%&@#! Houston $!%&@#! Astros. But when someone says something this stupid—this completely tone-deaf and oblivious to the over-arching context of earth—well, I just can't help myself. David Ortiz. Big Papi. Whatever the hell you go by these days. Thanks. Thanks a freaking lot. I was really looking forward to not having to do this today. I was looking forward to not having to think about stealing signs and banging trash cans and Alex Bregman's smug little face for 12 consecutive hours, and yet here we are all over again.

OK, so first of all, calling the guy who broke arguably the biggest scandal in Scandal League Baseball history a “snitch” in the same breath as condemning the behavior he was “snitching” on is confused at best and willful..
Virginia Tech fan watching basketball, dancing and eating wings is the hero we deserve
At some point in elementary school, we all have to write a small report on someone who has inspired us. The selections vary drastically from Abraham Lincoln to Aretha Franklin to my personal hero (at the time) Steve Nash. Twitter wasn't around when I was in my prepubescent years, but there's no doubt in my mind that if it was and if I had seen the following tweet, this random person at Wednesday's Miami-Virginia Tech basketball game would've easily been my choice for the assignment.

In the third overtime of a hotly contested battle for NIT seeding, this VT fan still had the energy and endurance to support his squad and keep the hope alive. It doesn't matter that his team was trailing; he was going to give the Hokies everything he had. Jamming along to Wolfmother's “Joker and the Thief,” this solitary hero flashed the dance moves of his generation all while holding a tray of chicken wings. Iconic.

Golf fans could not even believe that Byeong Hun An four-putted from 25 feet at the WGC-Mexico
Steven RyanTiger Woods has four-putted twice this season, once at Riviera last Saturday and once at Torrey Pines. Four-putting twice in one season was something he hadn't done since 1998, his second full season as a professional. As shocking as both four-jacks were, neither of them were as unbelievable as a four-putt from Byeong Hun An on Thursday at the WGC-Mexico. Well, at least in the gambling community.
If you follow the PGA Tour Daily Fantasy/Gambling scene on social media, you'll quickly come to realize that An is a polarizing figure. The 28-year-old South Korean often has great odds to be the outright winner, making him an attractive bet each time he tees it up given his immense talent. This week, An opened at 100/1 on DraftKings, and yours truly made a small wager on him.
While he's flashed the potential to be a multiple-time tour winner (An has lost twice in playoffs at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and The Memorial), some bad luck and a balky putter have ke..
Nothing sums up the John Beilein era like this story of him trying to schedule a Cavs practice on Christmas day
Jason MillerThe road from college basketball to NBA head coach is lined with bodies. Calipari, Pitino, Hoiberg. It's a dangerous path, to be walked only by the chosen few. John Beilein was not one of the chosen few. On Wednesday, the 67-year-old Michigan man resigned from his first (and very probably last) NBA head coaching job after just over four months. Beilein's Cavs posted a 14-40 record in his first 54 games in charge, but it's what happened behind the scenes that ultimately sealed his fate. It may shock you to hear this, but a senior citizen who spent his entire career telling teenagers what to do struggled to make the leap to the Tik Tok NBA, typified by this story from ESPN's Jackie MacMullan about the move that ultimately did Beilein in.

Watching Ichiro Suzuki throw BP at Mariners spring training will restore your faith in baseball
If you don't love Ichiro Suzuki, GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW. WE SAID GET OUT! . . . . . . OK, ahem, now that we've gotten that out of the way, we can move on to the important stuff, and by important stuff we obviously mean this video of Ichiro casually tossing BP at Mariners spring training on Wednesday. It's simple. It's innocent. It's not about the Astr*s. What's not to like?

It's essential to remember as you watch Ichiro lob a couple of balls to no one in particular on a sunny winter's day in Arizona, that this is not interesting for the what as much as the who. This is a 3,000-hit guy—a sure-fire Hall of Famer who opened the door for an entirely new continent of baseball talent in America. This is a dude who doesn't even need a last name, and here he his, doing grunt work for the Mariners in February. You un-ironically love to see it.

Webb Simpson part of elaborate wardrobe scripting prank against his caddie
In the past few months, Webb Simpson has reestablished himself as one of the world's best golfers. In the past few days, the six-time PGA Tour winner has also established himself as a pretty solid prankster.
Simpson pulled the wool over caddie Paul Tesori's eyes by convincing him he'd have to pull certain clothes over his head. In a pretty elaborate scheme that involved Footjoy, the looper was thrown for a loop by being told his outfits had been scripted for this week's WGC-Mexico Championship.
PODCAST: Paul Tesori on how he cost Webb Simpson more than $5 million
As someone who has gone through the wardrobe scripting process, this can be a good thing. But when you like to wear the most basic golf clothes imaginable and suddenly you're being forced into bright floral patterns, it's a nightmare. Anyway, Simpson shared the elaborate prank on Instagram that actually caused Tesori to break into sweat.
