Zach LaVine would have won the NBA Dunk Contest by just attempting this absurd dunk

Sadly, Zach LaVine will not be competing in Saturday's NBA Dunk Contest. Sadly, for basketball fans, that is. It's definitely good news for the four who are in it, because they wouldn't have had a chance.

Remember when dunks from the free-throw line were cool? Well, LaVine is close to making those seem quaint by comparison. Check out the Chicago Bulls star nearly pulling off a 360-degree dunk from the free-throw line during a recent practice:

Seriously, WTF?! Yes, he missed, but just the attempt would have ended the Dunk Contest. The 2015 and 2016 champ is on another level.
But wait, there's more!

So why isn't LaVine competing against the likes of Aaron Gordon, Derrick Jones Jr., Pat Connaughton, and Dwight Howard? ..

You won’t see a filthier, more illegal goal in the NHL this season (but it counted!)

The goal in question probably should never have even happened, as the New York Rangers trailed the Minnesota Wild 3-1 with under 10 minutes to play. But the Rangers mounted an impressive comeback, cutting the lead to 3-2 with 8:09 remaining and then tying the game with 66 seconds to play.
That forced overtime, which featured its usual, helter-skelter action. Both goalies stood tall, keeping it a 3-3 game and sending it into a dreaded shootout. The Rangers shot first, and Mika Zibanejad buried a backhander to go up 1-0. After a miss by Minnesota's Ryan Donato, New York head coach David Quinn sent out his best player, Artemi Panarin, to try and give the Rangers all the momentum.
On the all-time shootout percentage list, which requires skaters to have a minimum of 10 attempts, Panarin ranks 2nd, having gone 13-for-22 prior to Thursday night. He has the hands of a god, and he showed them off as he drew closer to Wild goalie Alex Stalock. It was an absolute dangle fest, but it went too..

Ryan Miller trades a puck for a box of Thin Mints, is instantly the NHL’s best GM

It's been a heckuva career for Ryan Miller, the former goalie for Team USA and Vezina Trophy winner as a member of the Buffalo Sabres. But as the 39-year-old's playing days wind down in Anaheim, it appears he's found a new calling: being a general manager.

At least, in our book, the 39-year-old Miller just made the trade of the year. And he did it during a recent Ducks game, swapping a puck for a box of Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies. Check it out:

OK, so the young fan deserves most of the credit for cooking up such a deal, but good job by Miller pulling the trigger. You just can't pass up Thin Mints, hands down the GOAT of Girl Scout cookies, in that spot. I'm not a big pucks guy so this is easily the best hockey highlight I've seen in years.
But I am a big Thin Mints guy. The best part is that those bad boys were already nice an..

On a scale of one to put-me-in-a-circus-cannon-and-fire-my-lifeless-body-into-the-moon, how sick of hearing about the Astros' sign stealing scandal are you? If you already have one foot in the barrel, you may want to just tap out now. It's been a big day. No one would blame you. But if you have one more story left in the ol' content tank, then allow us to point you in the direction of this incredible chyron KTLA graced Jose Altuve with on Thursday following the Astros' already infamous non-apology apology tour.

Tough but fair or total low blow? A lot of that probably depends on whether you live in the Houston metro area or not, but it's safe to say La La Land isn't very happy with Altuve and co. right now. Much of the noise around the Astros' cheating scandal has so far been generated by the Ya..
