9 things that would be happening at the Masters right about now

Mike EhrmannWhile golf fans keep their fingers crossed for a November Masters, it's difficult to keep their spirits high during what would have been Masters week. But we here at Golf Digest and The Loop have done our best to fill this void with content ranging from Masters Rewatches to Masters Rankings to Masters Debates to Masters Did You Knows. We even ran our own Masters simulation to see who would have won this year's tournament. But you don't need to be good at math to predict a lot of things that would have been happening on Day 1 at Augusta National. And no, I'm not referring to the dent I would have already made in the media center's chocolate-chip cookie supply.
1. People would be bitching about TV coverage not starting yet.
A tradition unlike any other, even good friends who are big golf fans will text me around noon on Masters Thursday saying, “WAIT, WHY ISN'T IT ON TV YET?!” Should it be on TV by then? Of course, but that's not how it work..

It’s supposed to be Masters Thursday so everyone made the same Charley Hoffman joke

Mike EhrmannCharley Hoffman putts on the 13th green during the first round of the 2019 Masters.Augusta National is paradise to golf fans, but paradises aren't immune to the pandemic. This week was supposed to be Masters week; that week will now be in November. A fall stroll down Magnolia Lane will be majestic in its own ways should that come to pass, yet there's a palpable void without the sweet tones of Dave Loggins and gratuitous azalea panoramas.
But while the coronavirus canceled our rite of spring, Golf Twitter's spirit is a bird that cannot be caged. Which is why social media stood up in one voice on Thursday and shouted, “You may take our Masters, but you can never take our Charley Hoffman jokes!”
Hoffman, of course, is the affable PGA Tour pro who's enjoyed a solid career, with four Tour wins and more than $28 million in earnings over 398 starts. But when it comes to the first round of a major, especially the Masters, Hoffman transforms into 2000 Tiger Woods..

This Tiger Woods-Tiger King mashup is your Masters winner for the week

To be clear, nothing can fill the void in this week's TV schedule with the Masters being postponed. Not the re-run of Tiger Woods winning last year that CBS will air on Sunday or even Netflix's spectacular docuseries, “Tiger King.” But an entertaining combination of the two caught our attention on what was supposed to be Day 1 from Augusta National.

Anyway, well done, Drew, and thanks for that. We just hope you don't get sued like, well, Joe Exotic.

This reddit thread of weird baseball fields is here to help us all get through this

Raise your hand if you're missing baseball. Yep, that's what we thought. Pretty much the whole room. Spring baseball and fall baseball are the best baseball and this year we're getting robbed of at least half by the COVID-19 pandemic. We're missing the hot dogs and homers, the beers and bombs. Hell, we're even missing the bad stuff too. What we wouldn't give to watch Joe West toss a manager out for arguing his own blow call right now. The good news, however, is that no matter how alone you might feel drifting through your meaningless, baseball-less void, you are anything but. Just take this lengthy reddit thread weird baseball fields that popped on r/baseball this week as proof of we are all together on this giant spinning Rawlings in the sky.

Brooks Koepka says he’s working on his “six-pack,” re-stokes the flames of golf’s best feud

Being on lockdown has caused many PGA Tour pros to discover new hobbies, from brining meat to conjuring trick shots involving swimming pools. But Brooks Koepka is keeping it simple and using the time off to work on his core—and continue the PGA Tour's best feud.
Remember when Bryson DeChambeau called out Koepka for not having “any abs” in his ESPN Body Issue shoot? And then Brooks fired back with a photo of his four-pack of major championship trophies? Good times—especially, you know, because we weren't even thinking about a global pandemic then.

But now Brooks has returned to distract us from that by re-stoking the feud flames with DeChambeau. Koepka posted a video on his Instagram story with those four shiny beauties in the background and the opening line, “As many of you know, I do not have a six-pack. I only have four.” Boom. Roasted. Himself. But not really. Check it out:

Did you know: Bob Jones played in the Masters after his retirement (12 times, in fact)

Augusta NationalThe Coronavirus pandemic has hit a giant pause button on fans being able to watch golf on TV, and in some cases, even kept people off courses. But while we hunker down and hope for a speedy return to normalcy, we can also use this time as an opportunity to learn more about the game we love. Here’s our latest installment of “Did you know?”
Any golf aficionado knows all too well that Bob Jones retired from competitive golf after he won the Grand Slam in 1930. But if you think Jones’ career ended at age 28 when Jones defeated Eugene Homans 8 and 7 to win the U.S. Amateur and complete the “Impregnable Quadrilateral,” then you would be mistaken.
Albeit an honest mistake. Jones had issued a statement in November of 1930 that read, “Fourteen years of intense tournament play in this country and abroad had given me about all I wanted in the way of hard work in the game. I had reached the point where I felt that my profession required more of my time and effort, leaving golf in i..
