Dana White buying a private island to host UFC fights might be the most ‘Mortal Kombat’ thing ever

Zhe JiThe current dilemma facing sports leagues across the world right now: How do we play our games, finish our seasons, and put some money back in the ol' advertising coffers without jeopardizing the health of our players and fans? The MLB has floated a supersized Cactus League that would feature all 30 teams playing games in Arizona as early as May. The NHL is weighing up a D2: The Mighty Ducks style playoff tourney that would take place in the frozen wastes of North Dakota where no virus could possibly survive. Perhaps the best (and by best, we mean most bat-shit crazy) plan of them all, however, belongs to UFC commish Dana White, who told TMZ on Wednesday that he is on the verge of securing a deal for a private island where he will be able to host UFC fights moving forward. If that sounds like the most Mortal Kombat thing ever to you, well, that's because it is.
For comparison's sake . . .
Pretty much what you were envisioning, right?

A Tiger Woods sighting, a tour pro couple pitches in, and a “59” you have to see to believe

Welcome to another edition of The Grind where we miss last year. It was a simpler time when our biggest questions revolved around who was going to win the Masters—and my biggest concern was whether I should place a wager on Tiger Woods. You might recall I even made a parody song about my conundrum:

That turned out to be a pretty good omen for Tiger, huh? But a lot has changed since then and we’re not even sure when the Masters will take place again. Of course, a golf tournament is at the low end of peoples’ worries this week, so I promise to not be that guy bitching about not being at the Masters. That being said, I also promise to not be the guy bitching about the guy bitching about not being at the Masters this year. Let’s just agree to be nice to each other during these stressful times, OK? Cool. Now let’s talk about what else is happening—and not happening—in golf right now.

“He got me”: Chris Paul finally gives Steph Curry credit for breaking his ankles five years ago

Stephen DunnThere are so many ways to be embarrassed on a basketball court. An airball, getting maliciously blocked, playing for the New York Knicks. Yet, nothing is as demeaning and nightmare-inducing than having your ankles broken in front of the entire world.
Slightly over five years ago, Chris Paul—as a Los Angeles Clipper—was dropped on his homecourt by Steph Curry in an eventual loss to a monstrous Warriors squad. There were excuses, most notably that it wasn't a true ankle-breaker as Paul stepped on the opponent's foot, yet the highlight seems to reappear every so often when the internet gets bored. No matter your take, we can all agree that watching Curry KO Paul is what we need in these dire times.
Not sure why the NBA chose this music. It kind of sounds like a C+ Soundcloud rapper beat, but that's neither here nor there.
