Joakim Noah’s beard appears to be blonde—and we have a lot of questions about it

If you're a New York Knicks fan, you probably won't find the below video of Joakim Noah hiking in the woods as entertaining and frightening as us. Just as a reminder, the power forward signed a four-year, $72 million contract in the summer of 2016—one of the many failings of the Phil Jackson regime in the Big Apple.
Considering the fact Noah only played a combined 40 minutes of basketball for the Knicks this year, this Earth Day he posted over the weekend won't amuse many Knicks fans. But the rest of us can be entertained by it.

First of all, Noah's beard is the obvious place to start here. We can't remember the last time we saw somebody with a blonde beard. But some quick Googling around has revealed that this is an apparent trend in the style world. Forgive us for being behind on the times. We're glad Noah is reading his GQ magazines. We s..

An 87-year-old millionaire hid a treasure chest in the Rockies and America is losing its mind looking for it

In the event that Nic Cage retires from acting or perishes in a freak T. Rex skull accident without first gracing us with the great glowing glory of National Treasure 3, here's the next best thing: Back in 2010, Forrest Fenn, an 87-year-old Vietnam fighter pilot turned art dealer, hid a literal treasure chest packed with 40 pounds of emeralds, rubies, gold coins, and diamonds deep in Rocky Mountains and turned the search over to wanna-be Indiana Joneses across the country.
Eight years and an estimated 350,000 amateur treasure hunters later, the chest remains hidden, but don't worry, Sherlock Internet is on the case. In 2016, Fenn posted the primary clue—a six-stanza poem entitled “The Thrill of the Chase”—on Instagram. Since then, a subreddit, r/FindingFennsGold, has appeared, and Fenn has begun receiving over 100 emails (and a few death threats) a day. America, however, is no closer to discovering the chest than we were back in the halcyon days of not being a Russian puppet ..

Man bitten by a shark, bear and snake within four years poses interesting philosophical question

Allow us to introduce you to the unluckiest man in the world. His name is Dylan McWilliams, he lives in Colorado, and he's been bitten by a shark, a bear, and a snake within the past four years. In other words, stay away from this dude, because Mother Nature has a Pikes Peak-sized bullseye on him.
RELATED: Watch a terrifying snake-mongoose battle on a golf course
Then again, Dylan has survived all of of these potentially deadly encounters. Which got him thinking. . .
“I don’t know,” McWilliams told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser on Friday. “I’m either really lucky or really unlucky.”
Hmm. That's a wise observation belying Dylan's (eventful) 20 years on Earth. What a philosophical quandary!
McWilliams completed this unlikely — and unenviable — wildlife trifecta last week in Hawaii when a shark attacked his leg in Hawaii. Previously, a bear mauled him at a Colorado campsite and a rattlesnake bit him in Utah. It's amazing a gator hasn't gotten him yet. He must nev..

This 21-pitch (Yes, 21!) at-bat deserves its own wing at Cooperstown

Wearing down an opponent's starting pitcher is always sound strategy, but Brandon Belt took that hitting approach to a level never seen before. The San Francisco first baseman batted second in Sunday's game against the Angels and worked a remarkable 21-pitch at-bat against Jaime Barria before lining out. That's right, 21 pitches in one at-bat. I'm getting a dead arm just thinking about it.
RELATED: Yoenis Cespedes says playing golf could help his slump
Although Barria technically won this battle, Belt forced the rookie making his second start to match his age in pitches. Again, in one at bat. One LONG at-bat that was clocked at 12 minutes and 45 seconds, or approximately the time a great marathoner would take to run three miles.
Watch the entire 21-pitch at-bat here in under a minute. Because we know some of you have to work:

The best home-run celebration of the year might end up being Carlos Gomez’s walk-off on Sunday

There are strong home-run celebrations, and then there are all-time home-run celebrations. This one falls to the latter.
Carlos Gomez hit a walk-off dinger off Minnesota Twins pitcher Addison Reed to complete a successful sweep of the Twins, and understandably had a lot of emotion. The Tampa Bay Rays outfielder had struck out three times before this final plate appearance—breaking his bat over his knee after completing the hat trick.
With the Rays trailing in the series finale (for the third straight game), Gomez completed the Rays' latest comeback with what might end up being the best home-run celebration of 2018.

RELATED: This might not be the best home-run celebration we've seen, but this bat flip hasn't landed yet
It's tough to sell this anymore if you're Gomez. The bat flip, the quick turn to the bench, the hands in the air…plus the tongue in the air. The final straw—doing the Ray Lewis s..

There was a “living” statue at Derek Jeter’s golf tournament, and the reactions are priceless

Baseball players aren't known for their originality when it comes to pranks. There's the dugout hot foot, bubble gum on the hat, Icy Hot in a jock strap…real sophomoric stuff.
So we're not surprised that Derek Jeter's golf tournament broke out the “statue that comes to life” trick. However, even though it's uninspired, it still delivered the goods, indicated in these priceless reactions from unsuspecting victims:

Biggest upset is Ray Allen's reflex. Man was as cool as they came on the court. That he jumped like he saw a python in his toilet almost ruins “He Got Game” for us.
Props to Jeter and company for pulling this off, although next year we'd like to see him roll out every hardball gag in the book, including a trophy ceremony that includes a shaving cream pie to the face.

Jutanugarn broke through Sunday in her sixth year, winning the HUGEL-JTBC LA Open by two shots to make her and sister Ariya the second set of siblings to win on the tour.
