This trailer for Kevin Garnett’s show is a terrifying lesson in the NBA dark arts

Watching these NBA Playoffs, which, don't get us wrong, have been great, but one can't help but pine for the old days. The days of true rivalries, when men were men, shorts where short and driving the lane was basically risking a visit to the hospital. Sure, there's been some C-level beefs, Spike Lee-Reggie Miller-esque rivalries, and more drama with Lance Stephenson and LeBron James. But in this oversaturated social media world, it all just feels manufactured.
The thing is, it wasn't even that long ago when there still was some real hatred in the playoffs, most of it provided the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat (and even Kobe's Los Angeles Lakers to an extent). While everyone played their part, Kevin Garnett was the star, providing an old school feel with his A+ (sometimes extremely messed up) trash talk, physical play and “I ain't nobody's” friend, win by any means necessary, “BAR FIGHT” mentality.
Now that he's retired, Garnett has attempted to ..

The Rock is starting his own tequila company…and it’ll probably knock you on your ass

Kevin WinterLike private Caribbean islands and charter jets before them, the new A-list status symbol is owning your own tequila company. Diddy (or whatever he's going by these days) has one, Elon Musk wants one, and Clooney just sold his for a cool billion. Now, if reports are to be believed, the great Brahma Bull—Mr. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson himself—is getting in on the agave game with his new nectar, Mana Tequila.
FacebookPinterestAccording to TMZ, Johnson has officially filed papers for the “Mana Tequila” name, which, in a punny twist of fate, simply means “spirit” in Polynesian. A launch date and core expressions are still unconfirmed, but a Cinco de Mayo announcement of The People's Anjeo and Raging Bull Reposado certainly seems likely.
Whether or not The Rock will actually try his own supply remains to be seen, of course. Generally speaking, he doesn't put anything in his body that isn't chicken, fish, or, massive, heaping mounds of pancakes, but let's ..

Eric Bledsoe apparently doesn’t know the player that’s making him look like a fool

Brian Babineau(Photo by Brian Babineau/NBAE via Getty Images)Remember Freddie Mitchell? He was the fifth receiver on the Philadelphia Eagles' 2004 Super Bowl team that infamously said he didn't know any of the names, only the numbers, of the New England Patriots secondary, only to purposefully state each of their numbers incorrectly? That didn't work out too well for “FredEx,” as he caught all of one pass for 11 yards in the Eagles 24-21 loss. Afterwards Mitchell claimed the Patriots were “little girls,” a lame response made even lamer given, you know, he caught one pass for 11 yards in a loss.
Why do we bring this up? Call it a free history lesson for Eric Bledsoe.
Despite the absence of their two best players and backup point guard, the Boston Celtics are up 2-0 in their first-round series against the Milwaukee Bucks. A standing due in no small part to Terry Rozier, the third-string Boston guard who's dropped 46 points and played lock-down D through the first two ..

Beer designed to be consumed in outer space is a real thing—and it’s close to becoming a reality

First of all, forgive us for not thinking through the logistics of getting drunk in outer space. Who would've thought about gravity preventing one from drinking beer, or any normal liquid, for that matter? Not us. But thankfully the Australians have solved this issue—and they developed a libation meant to be enjoyed in space.
4 Pines Brewing, based in New South Wales, Australia, has partnered with Saber Astronautics, which also has an office in Australia, on this joint venture they have dubbed Vostok Space Beer, a low-carbonation dry Irish stout. Apparently there's some complex science involved making the gasses in a beer enjoyable and drinkable. The team has solved the issue—and yes, have tested along the way in zero gravity (imagine that being your job … pretty awesome)—with an Irish-inspired stout that they're calling 4 Pines Vostok Stout, which the companies say is also tasty even if you're enjoying on this planet.
This partnership has been in the making for e..

Sex, drugs and the making of ‘Caddyshack’: A New book details movie’s slow rise to greatness

Orion Pictures/Getty ImagesApproaching four decades since its release, it would be easy to think Caddyshack was a smash hit right from the start. It wasn't. In fact, it was kind of a mess.
As Chris Nashawaty details in his entertaining new book, Caddyshack: The Making of A Hollywood Cinderella Story, the iconic comedy we quote endlessly today was besieged by an uneven script, infighting among cast members, and drugs. Sometimes lots of drugs.
“I've been on a lot of movie sets as a reporter and they're pretty boring,” Nashawaty says on this week's Golf Digest Podcast. “But this is the one movie set that I can think of that the making-of story is even better than the movie. Just because it was shot in Florida in 1979, it's pretty much the gateway into America for cocaine at that time, and everyone was just nuts. It was a big party. It's amazing a movie got made.”
FROM THE ARCHIVE: The untold story of Caddyshack creator Doug Kenney
As Nashawaty, a longtime fil..

Nicklaus cautions from experience against a Masters letdown

Tiger Woods built his comeback around the Masters, as was the case even in healthier years. He took a step back at Augusta National, not breaking par until the final round and finishing 16 shots behind Patrick Reed, the most he has trailed the Masters winner.

Woods wasn’t alone in his disappointment.

Jordan Spieth geared his early part of the year toward being ready for the Masters, the major he says he most wants to win. He had a two-shot lead after the first round, and rounds of 74-71 meant even that closing 64 wasn’t enough.

Phil Mickelson took himself out of the hunt with a 79 in the second round.

Jack Nicklaus can understand how they feel, and his message for anyone who puts so much emphasis on a green jacket is that the show goes on.

”I had to learn that there were other tournaments in the country after Augusta,” Nicklaus said at the Masters after hitting the ceremonial first tee shot. ”I played Augusta a lot of times and lost. I won in `63, `65 ..

The thug that threatened Stormy Daniels looks just like Tom Brady, says internet

Spencer PlattJust when you thought you'd heard the last of Donald Trump and Tom Brady's budding bromance, the internet sucks you back in. On Tuesday morning, adult actress Stormy Daniels appeared on The View to reveal a police sketch of the man who threatened her to keep quiet about her affair with our Reality TV Show Host in Chief back in 2011. Ordinarily this wouldn't be cause for concern in our little corner of the world, but within minutes, Sherlock Twitter had made a shocking observation:
This guy looks a hell of a lot like TB12.

Column: Majors can have impact on others in different ways

Major champions today create memories for tomorrow.

Some of them, anyway.

Still to be determined is whether the grit Patrick Reed showed at Augusta National – holding off Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler in that order – resonates with a junior who is just getting into golf or motivates one of Reed’s peers.

Article continues below …

”It’s such a nostalgic game,” McIlroy said last summer. ”People remember when they watched Jack (Nicklaus) win a U.S. Open or Tom Watson chip in at Pebble Beach. Whatever generation it is, that’s what they’re going to remember and that’s their fondest memory.”

McIlroy was among five major champions who were asked about their fondest memory of a major (excluding those they won).

REDEMPTION

”I’m a big redemption person,” McIlroy said. ”I’m big on someone winning who deserves it.”

The one major that stands out is Adam Scott winning the Masters in 2013, mainly because it came nine months after one of the most stunning collapses on the back..
