Don’t blame coaches, agents or players—blame the NBA
Let me be the first to say that I'm thrilled that the FBI is using its vast federal resources to investigate college basketball. I can't imagine a better use of that organization's time, money, and manpower. In fact, I hope they put everything else on hold until we can get to the bottom of this, and if that means joining forces with the CIA, the ATF, the NSA, and perhaps a group of elite shock troops from the Department of Agriculture, I say “go for it!”
FacebookPinterestChris CodutoOK. Deep breaths. Turning the sarcasm faucet off for a moment, you likely know the story by now: A bunch of big-time college hoops programs seem to have worked with an agent to provide money, entertainment, lodging, and other benefits for recruits. The case involves wiretaps, financial records, emails, and various other records, and has already implicated Arizona coach Sean Miller, who discussed a $100,000 payment to a recruit with a runner who worked for the sports agent Andy Miller. Justin Thomas delivers Tiger-like shots to win Honda Classic
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) Justin Thomas is another young player that Tiger Woods has brought into his golfing circle, not only spending time with him but sharing some of his experience that led to 79 victories on the PGA Tour.
As recently as last week at Riviera, when Thomas was within range of the lead going into the final round, he said Woods sent him a text to dispense some advice and wish him well. That changed on the eve of the final round of the Honda Classic.
”Got crickets last night,” Thomas said with a laugh.

That’s because Woods was playing, and he was playing well.
Just not as good as Thomas.
Thomas delivered a moment that so many times belonged to Woods on Sunday. He was tied for the lead with Luke List on the par-5 18th at PGA National, with List already on the green and some 35 feet away for eagle while Thomas had to lay up from the rough.
He needed a birdie to have any chance of a playoff, and his gap wedge from 117 yards was so pur..
Thomas delivers clutch moments to win Honda in playoff (Feb 25, 2018)
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) Justin Thomas was down to his last chance when he delivered his most clutch shot of the final round in the Honda Classic.
Turns out he wasn’t finished.
Thomas nearly holed a gap wedge on the par-5 18th hole for a birdie to force a playoff with Luke List. Moments later, he hit 5-wood over the water, urged it to keep going and lost it momentarily in the darkening sky over PGA National.

”All I was looking at was the water to see if it splashed,” Thomas said. ”And it didn’t. So I figured I was in the bunker, and then people started clapping and I could kind of see some little white dot on the green.”
That set up a two-putt birdie that made him a winner when List, who hit his own bold shot in regulation to the 18th to set up birdie, could only manage par in the playoff.
Thomas closed with a 2-under 68 and won for the second time this season. He also won in a playoff at the CJ Cup in South Korea last fall. With eight career vict..
Justin Thomas wins Honda playoff, beating Luke List
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) Justin Thomas nearly holed a wedge that got him into a playoff, and then hit 5-wood over the water and onto the 18th green for a two-putt birdie to beat Luke List on the first extra hole Sunday to win the Honda Classic.
Thomas closed with a 2-under 68 and won for the second time this season. He also won in a playoff at the CJ Cup in South Korea last fall.
Thomas and List matched birdies and tough pars over the final eight holes, and List appeared to have a big advantage on the par-5 18th when he hit a big drive that left him a 4-iron he hit onto the back of the green. Thomas was in the left rough and had to lay up instead of taking on the water.

He hit a wedge from 117 yards that landed a few feet in front of the hole and rolled some 6 inches to the side of the cup, settling 2 feet away.
List, going for his first PGA Tour victory, blinked first in the playoff by missing his drive well to the right amid palm trees. He blaste..
Tim Tebow suffers ankle injury in most Mets way possible
The New York Mets issues with injuries have become a running joke in the last few years. Even though every MLB club faces these problems, the Amazins just have a way of making everything look worse. Despite not even being a few weeks into Spring Training, the injuries are already piling up, and not even the great Tim Tebow is immune to it.
While a sprained ankle is hardly significant injury, especially for Tebow, who once played on a broken leg in high school, it's the way the Heisman winner suffered the injury that is just classic Mets. According to the New York Post's Mike Puma, it happened in the most Mets way possible:

Mets fans reacted accordingly, in their typical, self-deprecating manner:

Jason Dufner continues to lead the PGA Tour in awesome hats, and it’s not even close
Jason Dufner is still searching for his first top 10 of the season, but he leads the PGA Tour in awesome hats. And it's not even close.
RELATED: Jason Dufner's hat game is an inspiration to us all
On Saturday at the Honda Classic, Dufner donned a cap so cool he managed to even take a little bit of the spotlight from playing partner Tiger Woods. And the story behind the lid was just as good:

Rickie Fowler being the hat's true owner makes sense. That thing was made for rocking on Spring Break, and hopefully, Duf will give it back to him before #SB2K18.
Anyway, Dufner and Woods have been known to do a little trash-talking to each other. But on this particular day, Tiger got the best of him by one shot. Which prompted this fantastic photoshop job:

And the hat even got the T-shirt treatment:

Record-setting Korda wins LPGA Thailand
CHONBURI, Thailand (AP) Florida’s Jessica Korda set a tournament record to win the LPGA Thailand at the Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course on Sunday.
Korda held off Lexi Thompson and local hope Moriya Jutanugarn for a four-stroke win after a final-round 67 for an overall total of 25 under 263, smashing the previous mark of 22 under set by Amy Yang of South Korea in 2017.
”It’s an incredible thing to be able to win again. I haven’t won in two years. And who knows? It’s so hard out here. These girls are so good. I mean, look at the scoreboard. I had to shoot 25 under just to win,” said Korda after claiming her fifth LPGA win.

It was Korda’s first trophy since winning in Malaysia in 2015.
Ranked No. 26, Korda had surgery on an overbite in December and was playing in her first tournament since November.
”I just came with no expectations after surgery. It’s really hard for me to move. All this stuff is just still really hard, but I’m really, really happy ..
Pepperell holds off Fisher to win the Qatar Masters
DOHA, Qatar (AP) Eddie Pepperell survived a tense finish to win the Qatar Masters at the Doha Golf Club on Sunday for his maiden European Tour title.
The 27-year-old Englishman held off a spirited challenge from compatriot Oliver Fisher, who needed a third successive birdie on the 18th hole to force a playoff, but had his putt from six feet slip past the hole for a par.
Pepperell shot a 2-under-par 70 for a four-day tally of 18 under 270, while Fisher, who started the day tied for the lead, could only manage a 71.

Sweden’s Marcus Kinhult (68) finished third at 16-under.
The No. 154-ranked Pepperell made things difficult for himself with a bogey on the 15th hole, but hit a superb wedge to three feet on the next to get back to 18 under again.
Fisher, who appeared to have fallen out of contention with three bogeys starting on the third hole, stormed back with birdies on the 14th, 16th and 17th holes.
On the last, Pepperell laid up with his second into th..
