Gregory ShamusOne of the best feelings you can have if you're a golfer? Hitting a shot that looks like it's going in the hole on the fly. Often times, it doesn't—but as the ball tracks in the air—the possibilities are endless.
That's what happened to Justin Thomas on Riviera Country Club's par-3 sixth hole on Friday at the Genesis Open. JT thought he might've drained it. And as someone who's known for talking to his ball, JT didn't disappoint again—dropping a pop reference on us as he pleaded his ball toward the hole.

Not quite as memorable as Justin Thomas' pleading to his caddie, Jimmy Johnson, “Oh, Jimmy—be good!” as his unbelievable 3-wood on the 18th hole at Erin Hills that set up his record round of 63 at the U.S. Open last year. But “Talk Dirty to Me” was pretty good, particularly because the ball nearly went in the hole at the par-3 sixth.
It got a chuckle out of the Golf Chann..

Your 2018 golf horoscope
Illustration by Christian NortheastARIES • 3/21-4/19
Your natural optimism and fearlessness make you a fit leader in team scrambles. Careful not to sabotage your tee-off order and shot-selection strategies by overdoing it at the beverage cart.
TAURUS • 4/20-5/20
Steady and patient, you refuse to be goaded by sucker flags, which leads to wins. But trivial complications, like a rain delay or playing through, upend your tempo. Never check your email on the course.
GEMINI • 5/21-6/20
You know how to enjoy life's riches. Others leave the course smiling in no small part because of you. Yet your wells of charm have a bottom. Try offering to cover the guest fee once in a while.
CANCER • 6/21-7/22
You're a quiet competitor, your heart set not so much in the winning but the trying. Though you're intensely loyal to those in your golf life, extending this emotion to inanimate objects is sick. It's time to buy new golf shoes.
LEO • 7/23-8/22
Your emotions are visible to all, and..

Yankees prospect Thairo Estrada reveals he was shot in Venezuela in January, expected to play “bulk of the season”

(Photo by Jennifer Stewart/Getty Images)After a much-needed youth movement that led to a near World Series berth, New York Yankee fans have plenty to be excited about heading into the 2018 season. General manager Brian Cashman has an embarrassment of riches not only on the current roster but in the franchise's farm system, one that features top MLB prospects like Gleyber Torres, Chance Adams and Justus Sheffield. While the name Thairo Estrada is one that probably doesn't ring a bell, you can add him to the list of guys to be excited about in the Bronx.
Estrada, an infield prospect who ranks 16th in the Yankees farm system, reported to spring training this week and revealed that he is currently recovering from a gunshot wound that he suffered in V..

The top and bottom 7 golf video games for the original NES
Last fall, enterprising video-game coding sleuths found that programmers behind the Nintendo Switch — the company’s latest $300 device on which you can race a green-shoed sword-wielding elf against a bulbous oversized dragon— contained a secret version of the ancient Nintendo game Golf, an Easter egg hidden as a tribute to a former Nintendo CEO.
The news was cool but came with a hitch: Hatching the Golf egg required a lot of work, very specific timing, keeping your Switch off the grid and a number of other requirements that seemed awfully work-intensive for a game that 1. Arrived in 1984 and 2. Was not especially fun.
Indeed, the classic Nintendo Entertainment System was great for games in which overdramatic and cliched Italians hurled turtle shells around subterranean drainpipes, but real bad for golf. Between the years of 1984 and 1992, the original NES spawned a handful of golf-oriented video games, all of which attempted to capture the majesty of the sport and none of which, to our..
Arizona cheerleader gets ejected from game by tough-guy referee for PG-rated heckling
You guys aren't going to believe this, but a college basketball referee decided to flex his big referee muscles on Thursday night during the nationally-televised Arizona vs. Arizona State game. I know, pretty shocking stuff.
Midway through the second half, in a tight 50-47 game the Sun Devils led on their home court, cameras captured Pac-12 official Randy McCall pointing to someone behind the basket that Arizona State guard Remy Martin was shooting free throws at. After pointing whoever it was out, McCall can be heard saying “he's gone”, followed by a blowing of his big-bad whistle and a super-tough strut over to the scorer's table to notify everyone that he had just ejected … wait for it … one of Arizona's male cheerleaders. Things got kinda personal between Shaq and Charles Barkley on Thursday night
Shaq and Charles Barkley have had plenty of run-ins on the NBA on TNT, some of them more personal and awkward than others. There's also times where they can feel forced in an attempt to create some drama, which is understandable for anything on television. Thursday night did not feel like one of those times.
As NBA All-Star weekend kicks off in Los Angeles, the NBA on TNT guys were set up outside the Staples Center, and it sounds like they were reminiscing about O'Neal's time as a Laker with Kobe Bryant prior to this little exchange. Whatever it was, it struck a chord with Shaq, and he had little time for Charles' argument. Check out the video:

Have to side with Shaq here, because Charles' “you should have won more” take is pretty off base. Shaq and Kobe won three straight NBA Finals together, something only five teams in NBA history have done, the Lakers being the most recent from 2000-2002. Michael Jordan..
Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s new commercial will give you all the Daytona 500 feels
The Sporting NewsDale Earnhardt Jr. won't be racing in the Daytona 500 for the first time since 2000, but that doesn't mean he won't still be a part of it. In fact, at this point he pretty much can't be separated from it—a two-time winner and first-hand victim of the greatest tragedy in the race's (hell, the sport's) history. Junior, as he's affectionately known by just about anyone who knows anything about turning left, is not only the 2018 edition's grand marshal, he's also been dolling out advice to the subject of this year's Daytona 500 swan-song, Danica Patrick, and dipping his toe into the analyst pool (he's predicting a Joey Logano win, in case you were wondering).
Perhaps the most obvious indication that Junior and the 'Tona are still completely, totally inextricable, however, has arrived in the most obvious form of all: Advertising. In the build-up to NASCAR's Super Bowl, Goodyear—the tire provider for the entire..
John Daly the USA Olympian thinks he can out-drink John Daly the golfer
MARK RALSTONIf you came home after a long day this week, threw on some Olympics, and came sprinting back into the room when you heard one JOHN DALY was about to drop in for his men's skeleton run, you've probably already figured out there's another John Daly running around PyeongChang in ridiculous red, white, and blue pants. No, not Long John, of PGA Championship, steakhouse, and hard ice tea fame, but Regular John from Long Island, who just so happens to compete in headfirst luge for a living.
In order to clear up any remaining confusion, after his run on Monday, Regular John assured reporters that he is, in fact, not that John Daly, but may nonetheless be interested in a casual drinking contest with the Big Man himself:

Never one to let a shot across the ol' bow go unanswered, John Daly fired back:
