Ever since the NHL created a new rule requiring teams to have an emergency goaltender in the arena during games, there's been plenty of funny, unique stories of regular people getting a chance to suit up. Like the time a vending machine worker took shots in warmups with the St. Louis Blues, or the time the L.A. Kings had a fan tryout for the job opening prior to the season. While these guys have a zero percent chance of seeing the ice, they still need to at least dress at a moment's notice.
On Friday night, New York Rangers goalie Ondrej Pavelec left the game with knee injury and was relieved by Henrik Lundqvist. Pavelec's inury was bad enough that he couldn't return, meaning the emergency tender had to get ready. His buddy made sure to snap a photo of this incredible jersey the Rangers have for him:

Nice touch. If the Rangers were smart, they'd put this jersey on sale immediately and watch it sell out withi..

Lindsey Vonn’s career began on a ski hill so small, you might not even see it off the highway
With a short vertical drop of just 310 feet in the relatively flat Twin Cities area, Buck Hill is nowhere near as high as the more famous ski resorts in North America, such as Beaver Creek in Colorado where its Birds of Prey World Cup downhill course starts at 11,000 feet.
Even so and despite a lack of much more deserved national fame, Buck Hill has sent skiers soaring to astounding and impressive highs.
FacebookPinterest“If there if a semi next to you, you would pass it and not even know (it was there).’’
For instance, Lindsey Vonn skied at Buck Hill in her youth and now is competing in her fourth Olympics at Pyeongchang. She also has won more World Cup races than any other woman in the world (80). And she is just one of many ski greats who started there.
In addition to Vonn, Buck Hill has produced many U.S ski team and World Cup racers, including three-time Olympian Kristina Koznick (1998, 2002 and 2006 Games), as well as two-time Olympians Tasha Nelson McCrank (the 1998 and 2002 Ga..
Buy this $22.75 million mansion and you can watch the Pebble Beach Pro-Am finish from your bedroom
You could live here.On Thursday, we marveled at Jim Nantz's private golf oasis. But you know what's even better than having a replica of Pebble Beach's seventh hole in your backyard? Having Pebble Beach's actual 18th hole in your backyard.
RELATED: A day at the backyard golf hole of a man who builds backyard golf holes
Such is basically the case for 1552 Cypress Drive, which is currently listed on Zillow for $22.75 million. That's a hefty price tag, but take a look at this view!
FacebookPinterestBreathtaking.
According to Zillow, the 5,156-square-foot house built on 1.52 acres has four bedrooms and six bathrooms. Much more importantly, it's one of just five homes located on the course's iconic closing par 5. So forget about any imperfections with the property (the kitchen looks like it needs a renovation IMO) and focus on the location, location, location. We're talking about Pebble Beach, people! You could yell at Bill Murray from your bedroom!

Why I love the Winter Olympics, even if I don’t quite understand any of it
Hulton ArchiveJanuary 1948: The Swiss entry for the ski-jump competitions, Niklaus Stump, during the Winter Olympics at Saint Moritz. (Photo by Hulton Archive/Getty Images)It’s time again to prepare for my recurrent and scorching bout of Olympic Fever, which, despite living with two children with endless winter nasal-leakage issues, is one of the only ailments I get on a regular basis.
Olympic Fever tends to present every four years with the same symptoms: high levels of NBC, a brief but real interest in luge, competitive feelings toward citizens of Armenia (BOOOOOOOOO ARMENIANS, FOR SOME REASON), medal pox, constant exposure to Bob Costas and Bob Costas’s weird red eye. Does anybody else remember Bob Costas’s weird red eye? It was like a kickball stapled itself to his face. I’m sure it must be terrible to wake up to find yourself beset by a giant crimson dinner plate in your eye socket, but man I couldn’t stop looking at that thing. I hope they have Visine in South Korea.

These Trailblazers fans have absolutely no idea how Tic Tac Toe works
Halftime at a professional sports game is a perfect opportunity to make a fool out of yourself. Whether you're getting smoked by The Freeze or having your ankles obliterated by Hot Sauce, there's nothing like getting your soul pulled out of your chest in front of an arena full of strangers, and these hapless Trailblazers fans discovered last night during a calamitous game of mid-court Tic Tac Toe on Thursday night. Things get off to an ominous start, with the first contestant failing to make SIX CONSECUTIVE LAYUPS, and it only goes downhill from there…

In the next 30 seconds, it becomes immediately evident that the two contestant have never even heard of Tic Tac Toe before, let alone played it. First circle gets two across, and X declines to block. Then X wins the next move by making a layup and places their piece ON TOP OF A CIRCLE. After being reminded that that's not even remotely how the game works, X then..
Good Golf Starts With A Good Warm-Up
If you usually get off to a slow start, hitting shots that aren't even close to your best, it might be because your body isn't properly warmed up. Before Gaby Lopez makes one swing at an LPGA tournament, she has a routine of stretches and exercises to get her body ready. Give it a try before your next round.
There are so many free condoms at the Winter Olympics that every athlete can have 37
Claire Mackintosh – EMPICSThe Pyeongchang Olympic Village. The set of Solo: A Star Porn Story. Drake's tour bus. That's the hierarchy of places on earth where the most sex is currently happening. It's one of the worst-kept secrets in sports, but we'll say it again anyway: Olympians are the horniest, most hormonally pulsating cross-section of society outside of Everytown Community Band Camp, and the numbers back it up.
In the summer of 2000, organizers of the Sydney Games placed an order for 70,000 prophylactics…and promptly ran out. After an emergency order for an additional 20,000, a baseline of 100,000 per games was instituted. Then two years ago, the Rio Olympics made headlines when it was revealed that athletes would have access to over 450,000 free condoms—or roughly 42 per athlete, distributed via these hilarious adult gumball machines:
