Faldo expanding junior program to other major champions
SAN DIEGO (AP) Nick Faldo wanted his ”Faldo Series” to have a global reach, and he thought he achieved that last year when he took four juniors from his program to South Africa to play against four juniors from the Ernie Els & Fancourt Foundation.
Turns out that was just the start.
One year later, he is in the final stages of the ”Major Champions Invitational,” which will have close to 20 teams represented by major champions. Each team will have two boys and two girls from their junior programs, each wearing team colors with their champions’ name on the side of the sleeve.

It is scheduled for March 12-14 at Bella Collina, not far from Orlando, Florida, where the Arnold Palmer Invitational is being played.
Jordan Spieth, Henrik Stenson, Adam Scott and Rory McIlroy are among those who will be sending juniors, along with Annika Sorenstam and Justin Rose. The Seve Ballesteros Foundation is supporting a team representing the great Spaniard, while Souther..
Uber driver films Eagles fans the weekend before the Super Bowl, and it went exactly how you’d expect it would
You may hate them, you may find them ugly in every possible way, you may never let them live down the fact they threw snow balls at Santa Claus, or the time they cheered when Michael Irvin was stretchered off the field with a career-ending injury, or the time just last week when they pelted Minnesota Vikings fans with full beer cans, or the time they threw batteries at their current NFC Championship-winning coach, or any other time they've hurled objects at someone …. (extreme Stephen A. Smith voice) HOWEVA.
There is absolutely no denying that Philadelphia Eagles fans are one of—if not the most—passionate fan base in all of sports, and this is coming from a New York Giants fan who clearly has no issues with the great people of Philadelphia. None whatsoever. Aside from Rocky, Allen Iverson and arguing over which gas station serves the best food, there's nothing Philadelphians love more than their Eagles, and that passion was on full display this past weekend in an Uber, of a..
A Tiger Woods guarantee, Tony Romo rumors, and the best Johnny Miller quote of all time
Welcome to another edition of The Grind, where we learned the hard way that putting off going to the dentist for more than three years is never a smart idea. The result was a two-trip (and counting) root canal procedure that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. Well, other than that bozo who screamed during a Tiger Woods putt on Sunday.
FacebookPinterestIcon SportswireBut if Tiger can win a U.S. Open on a broken leg and make a successful PGA Tour return following back fusion surgery, I should be able to suck it up and grind out another Grind. So let’s talk some golf. At least, until the Advil wears off.
WE'RE BUYING
Tiger Woods: On one hand, it’s sad how excited everyone is about Tiger making the cut on the number and finishing T-23 at an event where he used to win on a semi-yearly basis. On the other, when you consider how far he’s come in a few months, it was one heck of an accomplishment. Sure, hitting a total of nine fairways over the past three rounds was, as he put it, “Gross.” But ..
America’s dad Tom Hanks will be playing America’s other dad, Mr. Rogers
Fotos InternationalTom Hanks is set to play Fred “Mister” Rogers in a biopic that will film later this year in an attempt to provide some measure of comfort from the daily horrors of the news cycle, and if you’re of a certain age (i.e. mine), this news brings up one immediate thought: Wait, Tom Hanks hasn’t played Mr. Rogers yet? How has Tom Hanks not played Mr. Rogers yet? Didn’t he play Mr. Rogers in that movie about the codes, or with the big dog? Weird.
Anyway, it’s fantastic news, because sweet head of Walt Disney, Tom Hanks has played some impressive human beings throughout his career, including Walt Disney, actually, and all of Walt Disney, not just the icicle head. In fact, Hanks has played enough high-quality humans that we compiled a medium-quantity of heroes played by Hanks—WHOM, we will remind you, is also running for president with The Rock in 2020.

Taco Bell golf balls are now a thing, and you can win a sleeve thanks to Wesley Bryan
Wesley Bryan lives más. Sure, sure, he went from viral trick shot phenom to tour pro seemingly overnight, but we're not talking about Wes's game. We're talking about his deep, unwavering love of Taco Bell. In April, following his first PGA Tour win at Hilton Head, Bryan celebrated with a negative-three Michelin-star meal at the Mexican-ish munchy purveyor. A few months later, tour paparazzi spotted him rocking this bad boy:

Now, as the PGA Tour rumbles into Phoenix, beer cans a-cracking, Wes has rolled out yet another pilgrimage to his beloved temple of ground beef and 864-ounce Baja Blasts…and it's perhaps his best yet. BEHOLD MORTALS:

Rapper’s Twitter rant following Blake Griffin trade is a delight

(Photo by Harry How/Getty Images)NBA trades are often floated months before they come to fruition, so when ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Los Angeles Clippers were in discussions to trade cornerstone Blake Griffin on Monday — with an official deal to the Detroit Pistons confirmed shortly after — it was one of the rare swaps that caught the Association's fans by surprise. And in the case of rapper Vince Staples, it was an unwelcome one at that.

Stenson seeking first-time solo glory in Asia at Maybank
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) Henrik Stenson has won in Asia. Just three weeks ago he contributed two points as Europe won the EurAsia Cup.
But he’s never won an individual honor in Asia, a fact he’s out to rectify at the Maybank Championship starting on Thursday.
The Swede has the form to do it.
Article continues below …
He’s coming off two top-10 finishes; eighth at the Abu Dhabi Championship, and a tie for sixth at the Dubai Desert Classic last weekend.
He starts the Maybank as the highest-ranked golfer in the field, at No. 12.
”I have played a lot in Asia over the years, I have got a strong base in this part of the world and I have been successful,” Stenson said.
”Now I would like to get an individual victory in Asia, and this is one of the opportunities. If you got a chance to win a golf tournament anywhere in the world these days, you got to play well, and we’ll see if we can get that going this week.”
Li Haotong already has it going for the European and Asian Tour..
Sorry, John Daly, MillerCoors and AriZona just release a Spiked Arnold Palmer drink at this week’s PGA Tour stop
The crowds at the Waste Management Phoenix Open are traditionally the wildest on the PGA Tour. A new adult beverage being introduced this week certainly won’t change that.
MillerCoors and AriZona are debuting a drink at TPC Scottsdale and John Daly probably isn’t going to be too thrilled about it. Arnold Palmer Spiked Half & Half is exactly what it sounds like, a half lemonade-half iced tea mix (named after the golf legend) with alcohol added. And having tried it, I can confirm it’s pretty darn tasty.

Arnold Palmer Spiked Half & Half contains 5 percent alcohol per volume, 220 calories per 12 ounces and no carbonation. Similar to other hard teas, the drink is considered a flavored malt beverage. The beverage is being released at this week's tournament, but don't worry, it will be available nationally shortly after the tournament concludes.
In October, John Daly — whose name has long been unofficially associ..
