As the Houston Astros prepare for their second World Series in franchise history, join us for a look back at the Astro, Jeff Bagwell, who as the lynchpin of the Killer Bs in the '90s, played his way to semi-stardom on the back of the most don't-try-this-at-home plate approach in Major League history. So go ahead and make your jokes, but just remember: Bags is in Cooperstown and you definitely aren't.

Scottish woman plays golf at St. Andrews — while serving prison sentence
Just about everyone who plays St. Andrews poses for a photo on the Swilcan Bridge. And these days, just about all of those pics end up on social media somewhere. Donna Mackay, pictured below on the left, is no different.
FacebookPinterestSo what's the big deal with this photo Mackay shared on Facebook? Well, she is currently serving a three-year, nine-month prison sentence for tax fraud, according to the Daily Mail. And that photo was taken less than seven months into her sentence. Talk about doing some easy time.
Mackay and her husband, Michael Howard, were convicted of evading more than 850,000 pounds (approximately $1.12 million) in taxes in March. Mackay has since been granted prison release two days a week, and took advantage by playing the Old Course at St. Andrews. Not surprisingly, this news sparked outrage, including from local politicians.

Venice Marathon leaders go wrong way, have to turn around, obviously lose
Marathon running, as best we can tell, boils down to two main strategies: 1) Run as fast as you can; and 2) Make sure you go the right way (Seinfeld fans, in deference to the beleaguered “Jean Paul” would add 3) Set multiple alarms so you don't oversleep; and 4) Don't drink scalding hot coffee down the stretch).
Regardless, one of these tenets of marathon running was violated in the Venice Marathon when the six leaders were all knocked off course by a sinister, conspiring well-intentioned motorcyle pacer who led them the wrong way for several hundred meters, costing them about two minutes, and opening the door for native Italian Eyob Faniel to win the race. The win by the 24-year-old Faniel was the first by an Italian in 22 years, and while his 2:12:16 is highly respectable, it also helps that he never had to stop to ask for directions.

9 details from this Barack Obama, Jordan Spieth & Stephen Curry golf photo you may have missed
On Monday, Jordan Spieth shared a star-studded golf photo that included former President Barack Obama, Stephen Curry and Under Armour founder and CEO, Kevin Plank. The important details like what were the teams and who won are missing. We're not even sure where this sixsome (did they go out in threes or play as a big group?) teed it up, although, we're guessing either Dallas National or Trinity Forest because Jordan plays there and the photo was given a Dallas, Texas location. Yes, we're quite the sleuths. Anyway, here's the cool photo:

And here are some other details we picked up from closely examining this picture:
1. There's not a Nike swoosh to be seen. Kevin Plank is no fool.
2. This is the only Stephen Curry highlight from the weekend that doesn't include him throwing a mouthguard.
3. Obama and Plank are the only two wearing pants. Old guy circulation problems, am I right?

What the. . . ? How the. . . ?
You probably have a few questions after watching. And while we can't explain the science behind this, we can confirm this was a legal goal. Since no one touched the ball after it hit the crossbar (Although the celebrating goalie nearly did with his head), it was still a live ball. And notice how still the refs stayed throu..

Bernhard Langer eagles final hole to win in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Bernhard Langer didn’t find his putting stroke until it mattered most.
The 60-year-old made an 18-foot eagle putt on the par-5 18th hole Sunday to shoot a 2-under 70 and win the Dominion Energy Charity Classic, the first of three event in the PGA Tour Champions’ Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs. He beat Scott Verplank by one shot.

”I was missing so many putts today and finally I made one,” Langer said after his sixth victory of the season and 35th on the tour for players 50 and older. ”The confidence wasn’t that high, to tell you the truth. I had a very similar putt just on 17 that was about 7 or 8 inches left to right and I made a really good stroke but I left it an inch short, or two inches. I was going to make sure I got this one to the hole.”

Bernhard Langer eagles final hole to win in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Bernhard Langer made a 15-foot eagle putt on the par-5 18th hole Sunday to overcome a mediocre round and win the Dominion Energy Charity Classic, the first event in the PGA Tour Champions’ Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs.
Langer, even par for the day before getting to the easiest hole on The Country Club of Virginia’s James River Course, beat Scott Verplank by one shot. Verplank, playing two groups ahead of Langer, shot a bogey-free 6-under 66 to erase a five-shot deficit, but missed short birdie putts on the 17th and 18th holes.
Langer followed his second-round 63 with a 70 to finish at 16 under. The victory was the sixth this season and 35th on the tour for the 60-year-old Langer, and clinched the top seed in the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Phoenix.
