Shin fires 67 to share lead at Taiwan Championship

TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) Jenny Shin shot a 5-under-par 67 for a share of the lead with Eun-Hee Ji after the second round of the Taiwan Championship on Friday.

Shin offset a pair of bogeys with seven birdies at Miramar Resort and Country Club, including a birdie-birdie finish.

”I had a really good break back there on the 18th hole,” Shin said. ”My tee shot went to the right, but I got relief because it was completely underwater, and I took advantage of that. Made the putt on 17, so I wanted to keep running at it and made my last putt on 18.”

“Fake” Klay Thompson was so convincing that he got into the players’ parking lot at Golden State’s opener

The Golden State Warriors lost their season opener on Tuesday, but many of the team's fans still left Oracle Arena in great spirits because they met Klay Thompson. At least, they thought they met Klay Thompson.
“Fake” Klay Thompson attended the game wearing Thompson's No. 11 jersey and sporting similar facial hair to the All-Star guard. And the look was so convincing that he tricked countless fans in attendance — and even parking security guards, who let him drive into the players' parking lot. Just not before he took a photo with them first.

But those who were fooled — he even signed autographs — shouldn't feel too bad. It turns out that “Fake” Klay is a master prankster named Dawson, a YouTube star with a channel called BigDawsTV, which has nearly 3 million subscribers. Here's his funny video documenting Tuesday night that has already gotten more than 1.5 million views in about..

Food company chairman gets 2 years in prison in fraud case

NEW YORK (AP) A former food company executive who admitted feeding inside information to an influential Las Vegas gambler linked to golfer Phil Mickelson was sentenced on Thursday to two years in prison by a judge who said he was motivated by a desire to seem powerful rather than by greed.

”This was a crime that enhanced his status as a peacock,” U.S. District Judge P. Kevin Castel said, ordering Dallas-based Dean Foods Co.’s ex-chairman Thomas Davis to pay nearly $9 million in restitution and to forfeit nearly $1 million for a conspiracy that ran from at least 2008 through 2014.

The judge said Davis, 68, ”paraded through Dallas as a peacock … when he was a phony, a fraud and a crook.”

”This was not a crime of greed,” the judge said, adding, ”It’s a real shame.”

Davis had a good upbringing and served in the U.S. Navy before attending Harvard Business School, the judge noted. Afterward, Davis earned more than $1 million annually before getting $10 mi..

A-Rod tried to put a Yankees jacket on Big Papi, and it went about as well as you’d expect

In a bold future of peace and love where even A-Rod and David Ortiz play happy-go-lucky work chums on TV, it’s somewhat sad to see those old battle lines—and the epic, endlessly entertaining drama that accompanied them—fade into little more than dusty legends for your grandchildren to dread. Thankfully for sadistic bastards like ourselves, however, the AL and NL Championship Series seem to be stirring up some old animosities amongst the baseball faithful, and we are absolutely, definitely here for it.
Let’s check in and see how A-Rod and Big Papi’s buddy-cop sitcom is coming along, shall we?
https://twitter.com/AROD/status/920828245263630336
Ahhhh there it is. The antagonism. The seething annoyance. The feeling that the guys in the other dugout are about to make you actively sick to your stomach. For a moment you think it’s going to be sweet too. Big Papi is cold but too busy to get himself a blanket, so A-Rod lovingly offers up his own jacket. Then you notice the Yankees emblem. Then ..

The latest beer pong and golf fusion is a putting game that looks pretty awesome

We've seen a number of beer-pong-meets-golf products hit the market over the past year. The latest entry is a little different from the others, though, and it looks like a game we wouldn't mind playing at a tailgate or a party.
The Putterball is designed to appeal to non-golfers as much as golfers, requiring slightly less skills than the Chippo or Beer Pong Golf. As they say on their Kickstarter page:
“When we say that anyone can play Putterball, we damn well mean it. Other backyard golf games require the skills of a PGA Tour pro to enjoy. We’re not about that life. We love the game of golf as much as the next person, but we are realists. We know golf is f***ing hard. With that being said, anyone who has ever played mini golf (we estimate about 99% of the population) has the chance to become a Putterball master. The other 1 percent should drink an extra beer first.”
We can't disagree with the fact that golf is hard. And anyone who is playing some form of golf is good for..
