Texas and Louisiana are slowly beginning to assess the wrath of Hurricane Harvey, with early estimates putting the price tag of residential and commercial property damage at $108 billion. That includes golf courses, many of which were affected by Harvey’s storm surge.

The Wilderness at Lake Jackson, a venue that sits south of Houston and just off the Gulf of Mexico, was one of Harvey’s victims. Luckily for the Wilderness, some ingenious planning by the maintenance staff saved the club’s cart fleet from rising waters:

We’ve long held these troops are the most underrated and unappreciated arms of the golf industry. Thanks to their team’s effort in trying times, hopefully those at the Wilderness club give a tip of the cap to the boys on the grounds crew.
