This single from Cardinals shortstop Paul DeJong is straight out of ‘Angels in the Outfield’

St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Paul DeJong has shown some serious power in the early part of his career, hitting 25 homers in just 108 games in his rookie year, 19 in his second year and already reaching 24 in his third year with 24 games to go. Here's the question: unless you're a Cardinals fan or an avid watcher of MLB Network's A++++ program “Quick Pitch,” have you ever seen one of DeJong's homers? I watch “Quick Pitch” on the reg and can't remember seeing a DeJong highlight, though I likely have and just wasn't paying attention.
But it'll be impossible to forget this single DeJong hit on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium, because it will be replayed over and over on MLB highlight reels until the end of time. A single, you say? No, not just any single, a single straight out of the 1994 classic “Angels in the Outfield,” one that a young Joseph Gordon-Levitt couldn't have dreamed up if he tried:

Must. Be. Nice.
As you can tell by Reed's caption, the seven-time PGA Tour winner is headed to this week's PORSCHE European Open. Just a hunch, but that's probably not a coincidence!
Anyway, good for Patrick. Now all he has to do to shush his haters is drive this bad boy around.

Tiger Woods roots for Rafael Nadal, Brooks Koepka’s dad goes after Brandel Chamblee, and the luckiest bounce of 2019

Welcome to another edition of The Grind, where we are sadder than anyone to see the end of summer. For others, fall golf is a real thrill—OH, LOOK! FOLIAGE!—but the temps are way too cold for my delicate taste. Heck, on Sunday it wasn’t even 60 degrees when I teed off at 7:27 a.m. I had to wear a vest AND a jacket! On Sept. 1! The horror! Anyway, bundle up, everyone. And in the meantime, let’s talk about everything else happening in the world of golf.

Korn Ferry Tour Championship: I’m not one of these golf purists who is going to tell you the KFT season finale was better than the Tour Championship, but it contained incredible drama in its own way, as usual. Watching guys go back and forth from having a job on the PGA Tour next season to being on the outs was riveting, and Doug Ghim provided the event’s lasting moment when he sunk this tester for par on 18 to graduate to the big leagues:
