Again, other than Eli the Great. What a gritty, gutty legend. However, in recent years, we've seen more and more players taking time off just to rejuvenate. It makes sense considering how long—and kind of meaningless—the regular seasons are, particularly in basketball. Still, you hate to see it, especially if you forked over good money just to see your team's star player modeling a suit on the bench.

The movie is an indelible part of the game's fabric: almost every golfer owns the movie, or has seen enough reruns on Golf Channel to recite the dialogue by heart. Well, unless your Golf Digest's Alex Myers, who somehow in his 37 years of existence has watched the cult classic just once. Once!

No matter how you spin it, the New York Knicks had a disappointing off-season in failing to land any of the prized free agents.
