J.R. Smith finally played Pine Valley—and then bought the entire pro shop
We've long known—and appreciated—J.R. Smith's love of obsession with golf, but the NBA star showed even more enthusiasm for the game than usual on Wednesday. Smith crossed playing Pine Valley, ranked No. 1 on Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Courses list, off his bucket list. And then he bought bucket hats and just about everything else imaginable from the club's pro shop.

Check out Smith's Instagram of the occasion, which shows the Cavaliers (for now) swingman purchased a lifetime's worth of merchandise featuring the course's famous logo (second photo):

It’s gotten so bad for the Mets that the team’s play-by-play man is (politely) destroying one of the players on air
Rich Schultz(Insert opening paragraph about how we bash the New York Mets too much, but the franchise just makes it so easy on a daily basis that it's impossible not to. Use “it's like watching a car wreck” analogy, because “you can't look away.” Related links to past instances here, here and here.)
There, that about covers it.
Well, well, well folks, the Mets are at it again. Mere days after hitting what appeared to be rock bottom, when manager Mickey Callaway verbally attacked a reporter and pitcher Jason Vargas threatened that same reporter, they've somehow dug a deeper hole. Since the clubhouse debacle over the weekend, and the ensuing apologies, re-apologies and non-apologies, the Metropolitans have lost three straight to the bitter rival Philadelphia Phillies, the last two of which were blown by their gas can bullpen, bringing the team's collective blown save total to 19. Shocker alert: that's the most in the MLB. They've now lost 11 of 16 and s..

Dustin Johnson helps a couple with their gender reveal in heartwarming fashion at a PGA Tour event
Gender reveals are all the rage right now. We're sure someone you know—a co-worker, a cousin or even just a random person you watched pop a balloon followed by loud yelling and shrieking on social media—has posted one of these videos, announcing the gender of their baby. These videos come in all forms, and as people in 2019 do, everybody must one-up the next person by coming with some outrageous, unique way to create one of these videos.
Thanks to the PGA Tour and Dustin Johnson, a soon-to-be father and mother at this week's Rocket Mortgage Classic have a video to post on social media that'll make their entire network of people jealous. In fact, they don't even have to post the video themselves, because now the PGA Tour's social media channels, with millions of followers each on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, everyone will see the video posted of them on Wednesday.
Dustin Johnson, the heavy favorite at this week's tour stop in Detroit, made this couple&#..

The Washington Nationals are bringing back the Expos…well, sort of
Ron VeselyIt's been a good couple of days to be one of the seven remaining baseball fans in Montreal. Last week the Tampa Bay Rays began “exploring” the possibility of playing half their home games in the poutine capital of the planet (les Diables Rayons does have a nice ring to it) and on Wednesday the Washington Nationals announced long-overdue plans to revive the beloved Expos for ONE NIGHT ONLY.
What does that mean? Well, on July 6th, the Nats will don the Expos' iconic baby blues for the first time since moving south of the border in 2005. Why are we excited? Because look at these things!
