U.S. Open 2019: Brooks Koepka daggers Joe Buck in clearly staged yet still hilarious video from Pebble Beach range
Brooks Koepka has made a concerted effort to open up to the media this season, or, as he's put it, to show more of his personality. In doing so he's become a much more interesting character in golf than he was this time a year ago. He's called out slow players, taken shots at Brandel Chamblee and even tried his hand at Instagram modeling, which fortunately for he and everyone else on Instagram, didn't last long.

For Koepka's latest act, he gave comedy a try, and did a damn good job alongside Joe Buck, who is at Pebble Beach this week to call the U.S. Open on FOX. For those who don't remember, Buck and Koepka became forever connected when after Koepka won his very first major, the 2017 U.S. Open at Erin Hills, Buck misidentified Koepka's girlfriend Jena Sims. As Sims and Koepka shared a victory kiss, Buck referred to her as Becky Edwards, a professional socc..
Krispy Kreme building Times Square doughnut utopia replete with glaze waterfall
Joe RaedleNew York City has always been more concrete desert than jungle, but if reports are to believed, a verdant, life-affirming oasis may soon be blooming in the cultural wasteland that is Times Square. Behold, humble sugar pilgrims, Krispy Kreme's new 4,500-square-foot doughnut Eden, where the world's largest hot light is always shining the glaze runs like spring water down the mountains.
No really. There's actually a glaze waterfall.
FacebookPinterestIn addition to the Niagara Falls of heart disease, this den of culinary iniquities is also said to feature a “doughnut theater,” stadium-style eating inside the world's largest Krispy Kreme box, an array of immersive digital activations that are going to get real sticky real fast, and a variety of different ways to stuff your soul with doughnut-y goodness, including a walk-up window for customers who would rather not socialize with other customers (read: all New Yorkers).

Max Muncy tells Madison Bumgarner to fetch his home run out of the bay if he doesn’t like it
Thearon W. HendersonLast week, we brought you the story of Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler, who was caught shouting “don't f—ing look at me” and “sit the f—k down” at lldemaro Vargas after striking out the Diamondbacks second baseman in a heated (but don't worry, it's a dry heat) NL West matchup. In the eternal battle of pitchers vs. batters, we chalked a big one up for all the aces, journeymen, setup guys, and, yes, even knuckleballers of the world. Less than a week later, however, the batters have already evened the score thanks to one Max Muncy, who buried Madison Bumgarner shallow on Sunday with this incredible post-dinger pillow talk:

None of this should be much of a surprise coming from Bumgarner (not exactly a big “Let the Kids Play” guy), who said after the game, “I can’t even say it with a strai..
Rafa Nadal and the curse of being too good
Clive MasonRafa Nadal has now won 12 French Opens, which is more than any other man or woman has won at a single grand slam event. Or, in fact, any event. (He narrowly defeats Margaret Court, who has 11 Australian Opens, himself at Monaco and Barcelona, clay events where he's also won 11 times.) His matches at the French Open are usually not very good, unless you like dominance. That was briefly not true in the final against Dominic Thiem, and in fact the second set, which Thiem won 7-5, was an electric and quintessential clay court battle, complete with long rallies, impossible angles, and brilliant defense. Then, at the exact moment when you thought we might be settling in for a classic—when Thiem pumped his fist at his box, and clearly believed he had an actual shot—Rafa closed it out 6-1, 6-1.
Not that Nadal actually cares about this, but to some extent he's become a victim of his own success in three crucial ways:
1. Because each successive title is basically fait accomp..
