Ty Jerome’s first pitch at a UVA game was so bad it could hurt his NBA Draft stock

It's been an incredible couple of weeks for Ty Jerome. The University of Virginia junior helped lead the Cavaliers to a first NCAA men's basketball championship and then declared for the NBA Draft. But hopefully, for his sake, NBA scouts don't focus too much on the first pitch he threw out on Saturday.
Jerome, a projected late first-rounder in June's draft, tossed out a baseball ahead of UVA's game against Florida State on Saturday, and, well, let's just say he's more accurate shooting three-pointers. Check out this bounced ball in the dirt that had everyone from his teammates to his coach making fun of him.

Not quite 50 Cent-level bad, but still pretty rough. To Ty's credit, he handled the embarrassing moment well on Twitter:

Nice try, Ty. Use that “wind” excuse while you st..

Three-time Gold Glove winner Ender Inciarte uncorks what will likely end up being the worst throw of his career

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte has won three consecutive Gold Glove awards, and, barring an injury, he'll likely make that four in a row this season. His defensive highlights are more impressive than anyone's not named Ramon Laureano, though his cannon of an arm might be just as strong. On Sunday night, that cannon was a bit too strong, producing what will likely be the worst (and most unintentionally hilarious) throw of his career.
In the bottom of the ninth, with the game already in hand for Atlanta, Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis hit a bloop to center field with runners on first and second base. Inciarte let it drop, barehanded it after one hop and uncorked a freaking laser beam … directly at the Indians dugout. Heads up guys!

Kind of A-Rod to help a brother out and blame this on the ball being wet. A lot of PGA Tour pros can respect that move. It looks to me like Inciarte is trying to disguise that he was throwing to thi..

This fan’s incredible hair has given the Utah Jazz reason to believe

When it comes to court side seats these days, it's tough to tell what's real and what's not. From dance battles to dipping chicken tenders in Pepsi to promote your non-starter music career, premium seating across America has become a watercolor smear of reality and make believe—a commercial-break-by-commercial-break test of your trusty bullshit-ometer. We generally prescribe to a pretty cynical philosophy around here—if it smells fishy, it probably is—but every now and then a moment comes along that's so transcendently, hilariously spectacular that we can't help but hope, despite every fiber of our common sense screaming the opposite, that it is as real and good and true as the ground we walk on. Utah Jazz hair lady is precisely such a moment:

Tiger Woods’ winning Masters putt already has 7.4 million more views than Patrick Reed’s from a year ago

Kevin C. Cox(Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)In case golf needed a reminder that Tiger Woods doesn't so much move the needle as he is the needle, Masters Sunday served as a shout-from-the-rooftops reminder. Despite fears that the moved-up tee times—the leaders went off five hours earlier due to weather threats—could wreak havoc on its viewership, CBS Sports broke a record for the highest viewership for a morning golf telecast in history with an average of 10.8 million people tuning in. Just as impressive, a rerun of the broadcast averaged 4.5 million viewers. For context, that made it the second-highest golf broadcast (not counting the Masters' morning viewing) of the year, only behind Saturday's third-round coverage from Augusta National.
That magnetism manifested on social media as well.
Cam Rogers, who runs a Tiger-themed podcast, made an astute observation on Monday morning: in just one week, video of Woods' winning Masters putt already has 7.4 million more v..

Terence Crawford retains heavyweight title with massive uppercut to the groin

Al BelloIf you spent the weekend clinging to a bottle of wine at the in-laws and/or re-watching the Masters alone with the shades drawn, you missed another pretty crazy weekend in the wide, wild world of sports. The NHL coughed up two game 7s, Russ went full Russ, and the human highlight reel known as Ramon Laureano turned one of the wackiest double plays you will ever witness. The must-see moment of the weekend, however, happened on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, where Terence Crawford faced Amir Khan with the WBO Heavyweight title on the line. Everyone expected Crawford to win—and he did—but it's the how that's of note here.
Early in the 6th round, with the fight clearly going his way, Crawford unleashed a flaming Dragon Ball Z punch to Khan's nether realm in what has to be the single most painful highlight lowlight in recent memory. For the love of everything holy, somebody get this man a bag of frozen peas.

Could hockey ever become cool again in America?

Icon SportswireI've been thinking about hockey more in the last month than I have in years, but it's by accident—the Carolina Hurricanes are in the playoffs, and a few people on Twitter in North Carolina's research triangle, where I live, are excited. The team just got absolutely skunked by the Capitals on Saturday, but the series is still in play, and at the very least Canes fans will get to see one more home game on Monday night, where a win would force a winner-take-all game seven in Washington.
Now, don't get me wrong—I'm not a Carolina Hurricanes fan, and I don't even know very many Carolina Hurricanes fans. If I had to bet, I'd say the excitement I'm seeing on social media is probably driven by bandwagon types. The attendance figures for the team have been abysmal almost since they moved to Raleigh from Hartford, and even in a playoff year like 2018-19, the Canes had the second-lowest attendance (percentage of seats filled) in the NHL (the ..
