Club pro shoots 13 over par on ONE hole in Web.com Tour debut, gets roasted by his own dad in the crowd

What could be worse than breaking an embarrassing record in your Web.com Tour debut? Having your own dad on hand to bust your chops about it.

On Thursday, we brought you the story of Ben DeArmond, a club pro who went into the Web.com Tour record books by making a 17 on the second hole of Lakewood National Golf Club during the opening round of the Lecom Suncoast Classic. DeArmond, who is in the field this week on a sponsor exemption, took seven tee shots just to put his golf ball in play on the par 4 and wound up shooting 13 over par on the hole. THIRTEEN over par on one hole! Seriously, here's proof:
FacebookPinterestDeArmond's disaster topped (if that's the right word) the previous mark for worst score on a hole, which was a 15 by Greg Eason at the 2017 Great Abaco Classic. It also instantly led to comparisons to the meltdown by fictional character Roy McAvoy, played by Kevin Costner in the 1996 movie Ti..

New Orleans coach sums up Anthony Davis saga in brutally honest fashion

Got to feel for Alvin Gentry. While the New Orleans Pelicans are dead in spirit, they are very much alive on the basketball court, owning a respectable 4-5 record since franchise star Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers agent Rich Paul tried to orchestrate a trade out of the Big Easy. Unfortunately for Davis, the move backfired, as the Pelicans decided not to be held hostage by a player still under contract for another year and a half.
While many fans and fellow league members commended New Orleans for standing their ground, the actual Pelican players, along with coach Gentry, have been collateral damage, trying to play through this sideshow. Davis returned this week, putting up a putrid three points in return in an embarrassing loss to the Magic. Then on Thursday night, Davis exited with an injury, a shoulder contusion, and left the arena.
Now, no matter the injury, it's standard practice that a player remains in the stadium (save for a trip to the hospital) until the game e..

TV cameras catch European Tour pro sneaking out to see Valentine’s Day cricket game

Brandon Stone didn't let Valentine's Day get in the way of watching his beloved South Africa cricket team. The three-time European Tour winner apparently snuck out to watch the big match/game(?). At least, until he was caught by TV cameras holding up a sign bragging about sneaking out to watch the cricket contest(?). Whoops.

Stone's presence at the cricket contest/competition(?) was noticed by a couple Twitter handles, including the European Tour's.

Hey, the dude just got hitched in September so it's his first Valentine's Day as a married man. He'll learn.
By the way, South Africa leads Sri Lanka by 170 runs (whatever that means) in the cricket competition(?) that is schedule ..

Anaheim Ducks hold ‘Mighty Ducks’ tribute night, actually manage to win a game

It's been a tough season for the Anaheim Ducks. The team's 25th-anniversary season was supposed to be one big party, teeming with crazy alternate jerseys, cool promotions, and general night-in, night-out Paul Kariya worship. Fast forward a couple months, however, and the mood around the Honda Center is more funeral than fun. The Ducks are sitting second from bottom in the Western Conference and just fired Randy Carlyle, the all-time winningest coach in franchise history. But the show, as they say must go on, so on Wednesday night the Ducks trotted out cast members from the original Mighty Ducks films—bedecked in their original kelly greens—for a millennial nostalgia fever dream for the ages.

Forget golf; Bubba Watson apparently wants to be an actor. Yes, really

Rob Carr(Photo by Rob Carr/Getty Images)Bubba Watson feels at home at Riviera, a disposition that has paid dividends in three victories at the Los Angeles course. What promotes this state of mind, you ask? Certainly the track's length plays into Bubba's power game, or that it calls for creative shotmaking, another Watson forte. But if you ask the man himself, another facet is fueling his success at the Genesis Open.
Acting.
“These are my people here, I love Hollywood. I've always wanted to be an actor,” Watson said. “I can't remember lines, though, so I wouldn't be very good at it, but I could look cool running down the street.”
You're forgiven for thinking Watson is being facetious, having some fun with the press. Except the two-time Masters winner is not joking, owning a genuine affection for the craft.
In his past few trips to Los Angeles, Watson has spent time with various actors and producers, taking in as much as possible about the industry. This inc..
