LPGA player enters first long drive contest and wins on her way to next tournament

If this whole playing golf thing doesn't work out for Emily Tubert, she may have just found a second career. On Monday, the LPGA player competed in her first World Long Drive contest — and she made winning look pretty easy.
Tubert went last in the finals of the inaugural Tennessee Big Shots event against Alexis Belton. Needing to beat 319 yards, she smoked her fifth attempt (out of eight) 322 yards to end the competition.

“I think I just made more money today than I had all year, so that helps because I’m self-funded for the most part,” said Tubert, 26, a former three-time All-American at Arkansas and a contestant on Golf Channel's Big Break. “I’m going to enjoy it tonight and then I have to stay focused.”
Tubert wasn't far off. Her 1st-place check for $7,000 nearly matched the $7,606 she's made in eight LPGA starts this year. Watch her winning long drive of 322 yards:

Rafael Nadal is all of us checking on Tiger Woods’s final round during Rogers Cup match

Andrew RedingtonSometimes life gets in the way of sports. It's a harsh reality, but one we all eventually have to face while standing in a “BACK 2 SCHOOL!!” aisle staring blankly at Post-it notes until the world melts away. Things get even more complex when your life is sports, however. Just ask Rafael Nadal, who had to deal with a pesky Rogers Cup final interrupting Tiger's epic performance at Bellerive on Sunday.

Following his victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-2, 7-6 (come on, there was no way that was going three sets with El Tigre making a charge), Rafa, like every poor golf sap on earth—including the whole of the UK, where the PGA Championship WASN'T EVEN TELEVISED—immediately began swiping through his phone to track his buddy's progress. “What's Tiger doing?” he then asked crowd, who, let's be honest, we're also keeping one eye on the leaderboard as well.
Interestingly enough, Rafa's c..

Bud Light is playing a dangerous game with Cleveland Browns fans

Haven't these people been through enough? They drafted Tim Couch number one overall. They were up 24-14 in the 4th quarter against their dreaded rivals in their only playoff appearance of the century and blew it. Last year they didn't win a game. Then—mere weeks after LeBron up and leaves AGAIN—Anheuser-Busch rolls into town with a flatbed full of shiny, custom Cleveland Browns coolers packed with enough free Bud Light for 3,000 Believelanders and promptly slaps padlocks on them. Haha, psych, they only open when the Browns win a game, because life is fleeting, but pain is forever.

Do you hear that? That's the sound of an entire city snapping at once. Bud Light has good intentions here, but they're trying to gameify sorrow. They're smoking celebratory cigars near the gas main deep beneath downtown. Marketing VP (vampire) Andy Goeler says the brand wants to reward the loyalty of Browns fans like they did..

European Tour winner has TWO sets of golf clubs lost by airline in 10 days

Thanks to social media, we've been alerted to a bunch of stories involving airlines losing or damaging golf clubs. In short, pros are just like us! It happens to the best of them.
But on Tuesday, 5-time European Tour winner Thorbjorn Olesen shared an especially woeful tale of travel. Apparently, TWO of his sets of golf clubs have been lost in the past 10 days!

Man, is that rough. Not to mention the five suitcases. As we saw from Tiger Woods last week, golfers needed all the shirts they could get their hands on while playing in the PGA Championship in St. Louis. And overcoming that type of adversity makes Olesen's T-56 at the season's final major seem a lot more impressive.
Good luck to Thorbjorn at this week's European Tour event. And at this rate, good luck on him having any golf clubs left by the end of the year.

An anatomy of Donald Trump’s congratulations tweet to Brooks Koepka

Richard HeathcoteIt’s the day after the greatest final round in PGA Championship history and everyone is having their say. From Golf Channel bobbleheads to the Dick’s Sporting Goods cart guy, everyone and your cousin who once blacked out at Topgolf is casting their two cents into the take jar, including, inevitably, professional Twitter maven/part-time President of the United States, Donald Trump.
Taking a much-needed break from shouting about his former hires and fires, on Monday afternoon DJT, with one hand on the wheel of the Titanic and the other on his phone, rattled off a glowing 278-character elegy to Brooks “T-1000” Koepka so rife with codespeak, innuendo, and grammatical guesswork, we couldn’t help but dive in and give it the ol’ telestrator breakdown. When the ink dried and the dust settled, here’s what we found:
FacebookPinterest1,000% not paying attention during an intelligence briefing.
