Shoot this retro footage of the MLS All-Star Skills Competition right into our veins

The 2018 MLS All-Star Game is next week. There's a good chance this is news to you and, given the game's seemingly perpetual identity crisis, that's OK. It all began in 1996 with a traditional East-West format. In 1998, the MLS pitted their domestic stars vs. their international counterparts. Fours years later, they played the U.S. Men's National Team. After that, the MLS moved to their present-day format of All-Stars vs. random European mega-club…except for 2004, when they went back to East-West matchup for some reason. In other words, the only way to feel about the MLS All-Star Game is confused.

How old is Vince Carter? Trae Young—and most of the 2018 NBA Draft class—wasn’t even born when Carter was drafted

You know you're getting old as a sports fan when the athletes you root for start to get older than you are. It happens to all of us when we get older. How about for Vince Carter, and you're now playing with fellow basketball players who weren't even born when you started playing in the league?
Carter agreed to a deal to a $2.4 million, one-year deal on Wednesday with the Atlanta Hawks, where he'll team up with rookie Trae Young, who started at the University of Oklahoma last season. The crazy thing? Young was three months away from being born when Carter was drafted in the 1998 NBA Draft. Same for Hawks rookie Kevin Huerter, who played two seasons with the University of Maryland before being drafted by the Hawks this year. This will be Carter's 20th season in the league.

Mario Lemieux’s $22-million-dollar, 17-fireplace castle is officially on the market

Nat LapointeIt's been just a couple weeks since news broke that Derek Jeter was selling his $15 million dollar Hudson Valley haunt, and now it appears yet another aging sports icon, Mario Lemieux, is following suit. Castles are, like, soooooo 2017.
