If you're a Golden State Warriors fan, you might not want to read on. Then again, if you're a Golden State Warriors fan, you should be able to handle it. Yeah, yeah, your team just lost the NBA Finals to the Toronto Raptors and its dynasty is dead, but the Warriors still won three of the past five NBA titles and I root for the Knicks, so screw you.
Anyway, Wednesday happens to be the three-year anniversary of the only other time in the past five years the Warriors lost. Of course, that means it's the three-year anniversary of the Cleveland Cavaliers coming back from a 3-1 deficit in the series against a 73-win team with a dramatic Game 7 victory in Oracle Arena (RIP). A dramatic Game 7 that included the greatest defensive play in NBA history.

“The Block” needs little explanation. LeBron James chased down Andre Iguodala and pinned what looked to be an easy layup on the backboard with 1:50 left to keep the ga..

Here in the Northeast, it's been a lovely little stretch of summer so far (even if said summer doesn't technically begin until Friday.) The sun has been golden, the humidity levels pleasantly mild, and temps have hovered in the upper 70s and low 80s. It's the kind of weather your mom loves spending half your weekly phone check-in talking about. Out west, however, things are really starting to heat up, especially in Lakewood, Colorado, where last week a group of parents sent thermometers skyrocketing into the triple digits with one the fieriest youth baseball brawls we've seen in a minute. Avert your eyes, kiddos. Daddy's gotta go to work.

Man, that PTA meeting on Monday is going to be awkwardddddd. All joking aside, however, this is yet another pathetic display of humanity from the sports parent set, who seemingly can't go two weeks with taking out their dead-end job, sexless marriage, and the ACL..

Part of being suddenly thrust into fame is that there's a tendency for everyone else to go digging through your past. Fortunately for Gary Woodland, this search has focused on his former basketball career. And with each passing day since Woodland's first major win at the 2019 U.S. Open, we continue to be more impressed.

First, after Woodland explained at his winning press conference how Kirk Hinrich pretty much killed his hopes of hooping professionally, this photo of Woodland, who was an all-state high school player before going to Division II Washburn University on a scholarship, being guarded the future NBA star emerged:
FacebookPinterestPretty cool. But that's nothing compared to the high school basketball highlight reel unearthed by Wilson Golf's Corey Holloway on Tuesday night. Even better? The compilation of clips (the first and last are the most impressive) is set to the Rudy theme song. En..

One of the biggest problems with the internet is people giving undue attention to things we should be paying no attention to at all. I'm about to do that, making me one of the worst culprits. First step is admitting you have a problem, as they say.

First Take and the daily arguments made on First Take are a pile of steaming hot garbage. Add in the fact that it's June, the NBA and NHL seasons (LOL, just kidding, ESPN doesn't cover hockey) are over, and the fact they have NO time for baseball, things are bound to get wonky. I feel for the show's producers and for the on-air talent, who have to talk about mindless trash over these next few months. But even with that being said, there is absolutely no excuse for the debate First Take reheated on Tuesday: LeBron vs. MJ. Oh yeah, they are back on their bullsh*t.
The worst part is that they brought in Shaquille O'Neal, who usually keeps it r..

Welcome to another edition of The Grind where we applaud the USGA for a fair setup at the 2019 U.S. Open. In the media center, that is. Conditions got tough during a few harrowing hours when the soda machine’s Coke AND Coke Zero went down and the chocolate-chip cookie placements were a bit spotty during the middle rounds, but those chocolate ice cream, dark chocolate-covered Haagen-Dazs bars more than made up for it.
FacebookPinterestIn related news, I need a serious junk-food detox. But while I’m still on a sugar high, let’s rundown everything that happened during an exciting week at Pebble Beach.

Gary Woodland: Often confused with Brooks Koepka by fans, Woodland will be most happy to be compared with Brooks now that he’s a major champion as well. What a performance by G-Dub (Assuming Gary likes that better than the “GAR-BEAR!” screams we heard in the crowd) at Pebble Beach, highlighted by, well, a ton of highlights. Going two under on the three holes his tee shots f..
