By giving golf fans almost everything they want, the Masters loses some of its mystery.
Masters 2019: If Tiger Woods wins, this couple’s signed contract involving the name of their baby will get very interesting
If Tiger Woods were to do the unthinkable and win a fifth Masters title this weekend, golf fans around the world would be beside themselves. The impact on golf would be immeasurable. The impact on a huge Tiger Woods super fan and his family, however, is measurable—as the name of their first child is potentially on the line.
Trey Little, 25, of Dallas, and his fiancee, Denise Coleman, are expecting their first child in September, and Trey is more than a little bit of a Tiger fan. Before the tournament started, he typed up a contact (binding, we're told) to present to Denise. She got a huge kick out of it, Trey said.
“She took a deep breath, grabbed a pen and signed her name,” Trey told Golf Digest. “Now after a -2 first round, we are pretty anxious for the weekend.”
Here's the contract:

Masters 2019: Bryson DeChambeau gets robbed of epic eagle by the flagstick at the 18th hole (go figure)
Andrew RedingtonBryson DeChambeau has told us all that his mathematical equations say the flagstick being in will help you make more putts. Little did he know a flagstick would rob him of what would have been one of the most incredible eagles of his career in his opening round of the 2019 Masters.
At the par-4 18th, DeChambeau found the fairway with a 3-wood and had 196 yards left to the pin. He struck his approach shot perfectly, immediately telling caddie Tim Tucker “it looks great.” It was more than great, nearly going in for an eagle if not for that pesky flagstick:

Obviously, he didn't have the option to take the flagstick out from the fairway (well, technically he does. Where's Bones when you need him?), but it's still quite ironic that the biggest flagstick-in guy on tour got robbed by the flagstick. Of course, he explained why it didn't go in to ESPN's Tom Rinaldi afterwards as only he can.

Masters 2019: Tiger Woods’ gum chewing at Augusta National sent Twitter into a tizzy
Kevin C. CoxAUGUSTA, Ga. — It came as no surprise that the driving range at Augusta National was packed at 10 a.m. on Thursday. It was opening day at the Masters, after all, and Tiger Woods was about to show up. There wasn't an empty seat to be had, and in fact, a security guard told patrons, who stood 15-deep to the hedges that bordered the back of the viewing area, to stop filing in.
Tiger attracting a crowd is nothing new, of course. But as his first round unfolded, fans following him from their couches believed they were seeing a first. Tiger Woods chewing gum? During a tournament?

Masters 2019: The scariest thing at Augusta National is this squirrel-devouring rat snake
AUGUSTA, Ga. — What's the scariest thing at Augusta National? If you ask a player, they'd probably say the first two legs of Amen Corner. If you ask a fan, they'd likely go with the long lines to get merchandise. In both cases, they'd be wrong.
That's because the scariest thing at the Masters venue is actually a large rat snake. And it reared it's ugly head on Wednesday. Literally.

According to Wikipedia, Rat snakes (or ratsnakes) are members – along with kingsnakes, milk snakes, vine snakes and indigo snakes – of the subfamily Colubrinae of the family Colubridae. They are medium to large constrictors and are found throughout much of the Northern Hemisphere. They feed primarily on rodents and birds. Masters patrons learned that last part first hand during the Par 3 Contest when a pretty large one (About 5 feet in length, which is 5 feet too long) fell out of a tree with a squirrel in its mouth..
