Tour pro wears Jack Nicklaus socks at Arnold Palmer’s event, survives golf gods’ wrath
Eddie Pepperell put the golf gods in a bit of a bind on Friday at Bay Hill. The two-time European Tour winner played the second round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational wearing socks honoring. . . Jack Nicklaus. But not only did Pepperell survive the wrath of all otherworldly forces, he wound up having a great day.

‘Bikini barista’ coffee shop deemed too steamy for California city council
Kwanchai Lerttanapunyaporn / EyeEmIt's been a scintillating couple of weeks for the American strip mall industry. First came Robert Kraft and the Orchids of Asia, and now—mere hours after photos of Donald Trump watching the Super Bowl with the owner of said massage/brothel hybrid hit the Twitter-verse—news that city council members in American Canyon, California have unanimously voted to revoke the license of Bottoms Up Espresso, better known to local Morning Joes as “the place with the not-so-flat whites, bro.” The free (and uninhibited) market economy as we know it will never be the same.

Watch a European Tour pro play a nifty recovery shot from the beach during low tide
It's going to be tough for anything to top seeing golfers playing shots from a garbage dump like they did at the Abu Dhabi Championship in January, but this latest adventure from the European Tour is pretty good. Gavin Green played a pretty nifty recovery shot from a beach during last week's Oman Open. Let's just say, it's a good thing it happened during low tide.

Our apologies for seeing this gem a week late, but it's still well worth your time. Green tip-toes around the wet sand as if he's afraid of messing up his pristine golf shoes (don't blame him) before swatting his golf ball back away from the cresting waves and toward the actual golf course he was supposed to be playing. Check it out:

As Green notes, it was a rough week in Oman. The 28-year-old Malaysian shot 75-77 to miss the cut. But, at least, he left with a “sandy” he won't soon for..

Is the blackjack dealer charged with helping gamblers cheat actually a hero?
picture allianceA blackjack dealer has been charged with helping gamblers cheat, and it raises an interesting ethical question: Is he actually a hero?
Kidding. Sort of.
This case actually hits close to home for me. Literally. The now ex-dealer's alleged crimes took place at Connecticut's Mohegan Sun, a frequent haunt for me when it was just a dangerously short 75-minute drive from my apartment in Stamford. You could hop in the car with a couple of buddies after dinner, scoot on up there for a couple hours, and turn around and come home. And often we did just that after quickly being cleaned out. At the blackjack tables.

Blackjack really is the devil. Even playing at the $10 tables, you can go through $200 before a cocktail waitress brings you one “free” drink. See that photo above? That never happens. And when you do get a great hand, the dealer always matches or beats you, even if he has to pull a 5 af..
