Man sets luggage on fire to protest cancelled flight, is all of us this holiday season

It's the most wonderful time of the year once again. The halls are decked, the stockings stuffed, and the partridge is in the pear tree or whatever. But this season, instead of roasting chestnuts on the open fire, toast your Samsonite instead—a tribute to this righteous rage monster who will be spending the holidays in a cell after setting his suitcase ablaze to protest a cancelled flight last week.
It all went down on Thursday morning, when PIA Flight PK-607, bound for Gilgit, Pakistan was grounded due to inclement weather at Islamabad Airport. When passengers learned that the airline would not be putting their lives in mortal danger by firing them into the eye of a storm via a speeding steel tube in the sky, they revolted, shouting and pushing airline personnel in hopes of reaching their destination—presumably a mountainside appearing suddenly out of the fog—as planned. After the airline offered passengers complimentary overnight hotel rooms until the rescheduled flight the foll..

A beginner’s guide to Fortnite, from a clueless holiday father

Christian PetersenIf you’re noticing more teens driving into telephone poles and elderly pedestrians in your town lately, there’s a perfectly logical reason: They’re driving while playing Fortnite! As you know if you’ve recently parented, interacted with or literally laid eyes on a human under the age of 32, Fortnite is the planet’s hottest video game, teen social event, cultural touchstone and reason Kentucky’s governor thinks the world is lapsing into decay and sin.
We at The Loop are no stranger to video games—you just watch what we can do at Lee Cavallo’s Putting Challenge—but between the holidays, keeping up with Jim Nantz and getting into occasional beefs with Phil Mickelson (HE KNOWS WHY), we frankly don’t have as much time for Fortnite as most people. That’s why we’re only now offering this Highly Researched, Expertly Played, Adverb-Decorated and Only Slightly Middle-Aged look at the fieriest competition in all the land. If you are new to Fortnite, and want some advice on how t..

Professional curling team disqualified from event for being “extremely drunk”

Clive MasonLike bowling, darts, billiards, bocce, and, yes, occasionally even golf, curling is a sport seemingly custom designed for drinking. It's cold, you're probably wearing crazy pants, and you're pushing a giant rock down a sheet of ice—of course you're going to want a Molson or six. But as it turns out, there are limits, which one World Curling Tour found out the hard way this weekend.
RELATED: The world has fallen in love with this Russian curler…for pretty obvious reasons
According to CBC Sports, on Sunday a curling foursome of Jamie Koe, Chris Schille, DJ Kidby, and Ryan Fry—part of Canada's 2014 gold medal-winning Olympic team—were unceremoniously booted from the Red Deer Curling Classic in Alberta after complaints about their sobriety (or lack thereof) from both competitors and opponents. But if you think this was just fragile millennial snowflakes getting their knickers in a knot, you're wrong. First of all, it's curling—not exactly a f..

Remember Jack Bartlett, better known as that guy who went viral a week or two ago for his spot-on swing impressions of Dustin Johnson and Keegan Bradley? Well good news, because he's already back at it, pulling off a pitch-perfect cut on this, the most magical of golf weeks. Slap on that lefty glove and check it out:

Can you guess who he's mimicking? Lol, just kidding. Of course you can. It's Phil—more specifically Phil's legendary flop shot—and it arrives just in time for 'The Match', something we also don't need to explain to you. From the black glove and dress shirt to that high, hopeful hold, Bartlett nails all the Phil mannerisms, right down to the iconic thumbs up. Sure maybe he's missing a bit of that Phil je ne sais quoi—the inner confidence to do the worm in a gingham shirt ad and karate kick over a former Batman sidekick's head—but then again, aren't we all?
Now we w..
