Phil Mickelson is part showman, part cyborg as he trains for match against Tiger Woods

If you watched HBO's 24/7 on the upcoming match between Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods, you probably got the impression that Lefty is taking THE MATCH a tad more seriously. While Woods practices by himself at his home course, Phil flies a small entourage to Vegas to scout Shadow Creek ahead of the Nov. 23rd Pay-Per-View event, breaking down different holes where he plans to attack Woods and challenge him to side/sucker bets.

Mickelson's preparation is the best part of the entertaining 45-minute episode, particularly when he describes a drive he hits as a “hellacious seed” and when he cockily says he'll hit it close on one par 3 and then sticks his shot to about four feet. But in the day after it first aired, the five-time major champ provided a photo showing he has taken his training to another level.

Jacob deGrom wins Cy Young, Mets still somehow get ROASTED by guy making the announcement

Even when the Mets win, they still lose.
Case in point, this soon-to-be-viral announcement of New York ace Jacob deGrom winning the NL Cy Young, an award he 100-percent deserved after his historic year. While many believed he was a lock, there was still that tiny bit of doubt that he could get beat out by Washington Nationals hurler Max Scherzer, who notched 18 wins to go with his 2.53 ERA and 300 strikeouts. deGrom's stats were equally as eye-popping, as he posted an even better ERA of 1.70 and struck out 269 batters, but he lacked in just one area: wins. The right-hander went 10-9, which should be considered a minor miracle because of the team he played for.
Would the writers really choose Scherzer over deGrom, showing the win for starting pitchers still has value? Luckily, for the sake of the Amazins' fanbase, they did not, as deGrom was announced as the winner on Wednesday night, but not before the guy who made the announcement dropped an all-time random dagger on deGrom&..

Rare Grand Slam of Darts feat produces absolutely electric play-by-play call

I can safely say I had never watched darts highlights before today. I can also now safely say that darts highlights are the best highlights in sports.
RELATED: World Cup star posts video of impressive golf feat
On Wednesday, a clip of one dartsman(?)/darter(?)/dartlete(?), um, let's just go with darts player, doing something really dartsy went viral. And although I couldn't for the life of me understand what was going on (Aren't you supposed to hit the bullseye?), the the call by the announcer — and the reaction of the crowd — was absolutely electric. Check it out:

“THAT IS A STUNNING MOMENT IN THE GRAND SLAM OF DARTS!” Gus Johnson, eat your heart out!
I conferred with co-worker and closet darts aficionado Chris Powers, who explained Dimitri Van den Bergh's “nine darter” or PERFECT LEG as follows:
“You start with 501 points (game is called 501). You hit the middle red, it's triple 20 (60×3=180). Then..

Jersey man arrested for drunk driving, blames the whole thing on the Jets

Michael OwensIf you're wondering what it's like to be a Jets fan right now, the answer is a resounding NOT GREAT BOB. On Sunday, your team got whacked 41-10 by Matt Barkley's Buffalo Bills at home, and on Monday you woke up to find that the head coach who led you to said humiliation—and many more like it over the past few years—was still your head coach. Meanwhile your savior is still leading the league in interceptions despite missing an entire game and your children hardly call anymore. So what do you do? Well, if you're 57-year-old New Milford resident Christopher Greyshock, you drown your sorrows in cheap whiskey, get a DWI on the way home from the game, and blame it all on the god damn Jets.
According to the Pascack Valley Daily Voice, officers responded to the scene of an accident at around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday evening to find Greyshock “staggering and swaying” with undisclosed liquid stains on his pants and liquor on his breath. After failing a field sobriety ..
