Bruce Hornsby says he once beat Allen Iverson in a game of one-on-one, isn’t kidding

Bobby BankPossibly the biggest regret of my life is I didn't hear Bruce Hornsby's “Mandolin Rain” until I was 32. I'm not sure how this masterpiece took three decades to find me, but it finally did while waiting on line at a Wendy's in Virginia. Funny enough, I had first realized Hornsby—and not Tupac—was originally behind another classic, “The Way it is,” at a different Wendy's in Winston-Salem while I was in college. Yes, I used to eat at Wendy's a lot. And Hornsby must be making a killing in royalties from the burger chain.

Anyway, I became a fan of (the better) BRUCE on the spot. The man can craft a catchy tune with weighty words, all while tickling the ivory. And apparently, that feathery touch extends to the basketball court. In a new interview with Uproxx, Horsnby confirms an incredible statement from his Wikipedia page: that he once beat Allen Iverson in a game of one-on-one. Yep, that Bruce ..

Steph Curry has played his entire career with blurred vision, is the NBA’s pinball wizard

Ezra ShawRay Allen: 2,973. Reggie Miller: 2,560. Steph Curry: 2,285. Those are the NBA's all-time three-point leaders. Allen played 18 seasons. Miller played 18 seasons. Curry has played 10 (and counting). There's little question that when all is said and done, Curry will sit atop that lofty peak, which is impressive enough in its own right, but according to a new interview with The Athletic's Marcus Thompson II, his cold-blooded accuracy may be even crazier than originally thought. You see, Steph Curry wears contacts…or rather, just started wearing contacts.
Apparently, Curry has played his entire NBA career with a vision condition called Keratoconus, which occurs when one's normally round cornea thins and begins to bulge out like a cone. Unable to focus on light rays, vision then becomes blurry and distorted, making every day tasks like reading, driving, and draining 30-foot buzzer beaters increasingly difficult. In other words, Curry is the NBA's very own ..

Watch Oakland’s Ramon Laureano throw a heat-seeking missile to get Xander Bogaerts out at third base

Oakland Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano has played in just 56 MLB games, 48 of which came last summer when he was first called up to the bigs on August 3. Yet even in this limited amount of time, Laureano is already becoming somewhat of a legend thanks to his absolute CANNON for a right arm.
On Tuesday night against the Boston Red Sox, the Laureano legend grew in the top of the ninth inning, when Boston shortstop Xander Bogaerts hit one deep in his direction in right center field. With the A's leading 1-0 and with only 1 out, Bogaerts' blast appeared to be leaving the stadium, but it just caught the top left corner of the wall in right center. After taking a huge carom, Bogaerts looked as though he'd safely reach third as the tying run, but Laureano had other ideas, sprinting to the ball an uncorking a heat-seeking missile that's already the throw of the year in baseball. Have a watch:

Bryce Harper launches most disrespectful bat flip ever in return to Washington D.C.

Scott TaetschIt's not often you get meaningful, season-altering baseball games in the month of April, but Tuesday night was a big old fat exception for both the Phillies and Nationals. Sure, division rivalry games, especially in the top-heavy NL East, are always going to be a little spicy, but this particular matchup saw the lid on the hot-flake shaker pop right the hell off thanks to Bryce Harper's first return to the 202 since his big-money move up I-95. Things started about as you'd expect, with all 200 Nationals fans rolling out their finest doctored jerseys and signage for the occasion…

Obviously when you come up with something as great as changing “Harper” into “Farter,” you're going to think you have won, but in the top of the 8th, Harper made it emphatically clear that, in the immortal words of Sean Connery, ..

How is Zion Williamson handling Duke’s loss? By nearly breaking a backboard in a pickup game

Following Duke's crushing loss to Michigan State last Sunday, the smart thing for Zion Williamson would've been to completely shut it down until he gets taken first overall (please be the Knicks) in this summer's NBA Draft. The really smart thing would have been to shut it down after the scary, nearly serious injury he suffered against North Carolina in February. Obviously, Zion isn't all that interested in smart decisions.
RELATED: How Zion Williamson killed the one-and-done rule
No, Williamson would rather just play basketball, much to the chagrin of those who want to make Zion's life decisions for him despite having never even met him. He just wants to ball with his boys, and apparently those boys include the slow, semi-athletic white kids at Duke who are wearing shorts that are far too short for a pontoon boat party let alone a pickup game:
