(Photo by Streeter Lecka/Getty Images)Gardner-Webb had a chance to replicate history on Virginia, trying to become the second straight 16-seed to defeat a No. 1-seeded Cavalier team. Of course, the odds were not in Gardner-Webb's favor—they were 22.5-point underdogs to the Cavaliers before the game, but after a huge scoring burst in the first half, Gardner-Webb found themselves up 14 at one point.
UMBC, who pulled off the historic first victory as a 16-seed in NCAA Tournament history last year, decided to tweet some encouragement over to Gardner-Webb during halftime, as the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs went into the half up by six..

Andre Iguodala says his “basketball game is a direct reflection” of how much golf he plays, isn’t kidding

© M. Cody Pickens Photography 2014Andre Iguodala's love of golf has been well documented in recent years. He's gushed about playing Augusta National, beamed about taking photos with Tiger Woods, and even worked as an on-course reporter for Turner Sports during the 2017 PGA Championship. But on Thursday night, he gave the most clear evidence of just how important the game is to him.

Following a strong performance in Golden State's 112-89 thrashing of Indiana, Iguodala explained that his play on the court is actually a “direct reflection” of how much he gets to play on the course. And he said it with a completely straight face. Check it out:

Iguodala's really not kidding. And we love it. Here's the full quote he gave to NBC Sports Bay Area's Kerith Burke:
“I'm almost there. So, I had it and I kind of lost it. It was raining a little bit and the s..

Justin Thomas’ March Madness streaming HQ will make you green with envy

Gregory ShamusIf you've ever wondered what PGA Pros do on their off weeks (you know, besides grind for their next on weeks), then you're going to love the latest transmission from Justin Thomas' 'gram. JT isn't playing in the Valspar this week, and like any self-respecting guy who is off the clock in mid-March—because of basketball-induced vasectomy or some other equally improbable excuse—he's kicking back for some quality time with the NCAA Tournament. But as Thomas' Instagram Story made abundantly clear on Thursday night, he's doing the whole March Madness thing just a little bit better than you.
FacebookPinterestThis peak inside the Batcave offers an interesting glimpse at the life of one of the last ring-less members of the SB2K crew. There's five TVs, four of which are cooking on the Madnezz while the other keeps Thomas up to date on all the moving and shaking in the FedEx Cup standings. There's the feet, which are up, and the ratt..

This “One Shining Moment” video of the Lakers disastrous season is perfect

We've officially entered March Madness, which means the countdown to that glorious final highlight compilation set to “One Shining Moment” is underway. It's a perfect capper to the season—except for that one year they switched in that Jennifer Hudson version that featured the singer as much as the players—unless, of course, Duke just cut down the nets. And now, the sweet tones of Luther Vandross have been used to wrap up the Los Angeles Lakers' decidedly NOT glorious campaign.
RELATED: LeBron James' lackluster defensive effort gets ripped
With the arrival of LeBron James, the Lakers were expected to be gearing up for a playoff run at this time. Instead, they are shutting players down, signing G-Leaguers, and preparing to enter the NBA Draft Lottery (I swear, if they get the 1st pick instead of the Knicks, I'm done watching basketball). In short, the season has been an utter disaster. But even the most diehard purple-and-gold followers will have to chuckle at th..
