The year of Gritty continues. The lovable, what-the-heck-is-that creature who moonlights as the Philadelphia Flyers creature, has captured our imaginations, becoming an overnight internet sensation in 2018. Though we were just introduced to Gritty The Mascot in September, it seems there never was a world without Gritty.
Gritty graced a Philadelphians' wedding cake last month, took over Halloween (of course … that was too easy), and now, he/she/it is nailing half-court shots at college basketball games? It appears there's nothing Gritty can't do.

They say you shouldn't believe everything you read on the Internet, HOWEVAH! Annoying makes perfect sense for a guy who went on TV on Thursday wearing a New Orleans Saints jersey and a cowboy hat and saying New Orleans was going to “STOMP” the Dallas Cowboys hours before the Cowboys beat the Saints.
We also like the more subtle jabs in the entry, including that Smith makes “too many appearances” on ESPN's various shows. “Someone” did this, eh, Jimmy? Right. . . (Wink, wink)

Basketball fans have long known Charles Barkley is a tough critic. Heck, golf fans found that out last week when he said “The Match” between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson was “crappy golf.” But he couldn't possibly find a way to rip someone after a 51-point performance, right? Wrong.

Barkley's latest dig came at Kevin Durant after the Golden State star did exactly that on Thursday night in his team's 131-128 loss to the Toronto Raptors in what is the early game of the season in the NBA. Following the game, Durant took off his jersey and gave it to rapper/Raptors fan Drake.
