The play-by-play of this Los Angeles police chase/crash is wildly entertaining

A Los Angeles area police chase involving a high-speed crash on Friday resulted in no serious injuries thankfully. And now that we've gotten that fact out of the way, we can also talk about how thankful we are that is was caught on tape.
RELATED: Kevin Harlan's amazing call of a fan running on the field
NBC 4's newschopper was hovering above the scene and captured, first a police car causing the stolen truck to flip over, and then California Highway Patrol tackling the runaway suspect. But even more entertaining than all of that was the incredible play-by-play. Have a watch and listen:

I haven't heard a call that good since Marv Albert in his prime. Seriously, NBC needs to make this woman part of their sports coverage. The highlights:
“CHP said game over.”
“Suspect is on the run, guys, he's not going to get too far away. I'm amazed he's able to run after an accident like that.”
And, of c..

We don’t know how far Steven Spieth’s basketball skills will take him, but basketball itself seems to be taking him around the world.
This season, Steven, Jordan Spieth's little brother, albeit six inches taller than Jordan, is playing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the professional team HKK Zrinjski Mostar.
A star and four-year starter at Brown University, Spieth, 24, is listed as a 6-7 shooting guard. HKK Zrinjski Mostar plays in two leagues simultaneously, and Spieth is averaging 4.2 points in 18.6 minutes per game in the ABA (Adriatic League) and 3.3 points in 11 minutes in the Bosnia Division 1 league.
After graduating from Brown in the spring of 2017, Spieth played on the Dallas Mavericks summer league team in Las Vegas, then signed with BC Winterhur, a team in the top division in Switzerland, though he never played there..

Move over Golden State, this D-III team is the new king of three-point shooting

Boston GlobeThe three-point shot is all the rage in both college and professional basketball right now. Just look at the Golden State Warriors, who have won three of the last four NBA titles by simply launching up bombs and running teams out of the gym. But with all the drama surrounding them and Kevin Durant's impending free agency right now, it's as good a time as ever to crown a new team as king of the three-point shot. Who is that team? The Grinnell College Pioneers, a D-III team, obviously.
Why is the men's team from this liberal arts college in Iowa the new king? Check out this box score from their victory over Emmaus on Thursday night, a game in which the Pioneers chucked up EIGHT EIGHT shots from downtown and hit FORTY TWO of them, which set a new NCAA record for made threes in a game:

The 42 makes is impressive, but even more impressive is the efficiency. To shoot 88 treys and come close to making half of..

Tiger Woods doubles down on Phil Mickelson smack talk: “I’ve been in his head for 20 years”

Some of the more interesting developments in the lead-up to The Match between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson has been the duo discussing their relationship with each other throughout their 20-plus year careers. In the HBO Sports 24-7 show about The Match that aired this week, Tiger and Phil dismissed any dislike for each other, saying that narrative was overblown by the media. We don't entirely buy that.
The smack talk between the two, however, has been natural since Tiger and Phil played a practice round together at the Masters, which we now know came after negotiations were in place to finalize this match. And in May, Tiger started the smack talking off right by offering some playful banter, saying “first of all, big picture,” when responding to about Phil's comments about a potential high-stakes match, after his then-recent win at the WGC-Mexico.
The most recent entry of smack talk came courtesy of Tiger Woods on TNT's NBA show on Thursday night. Tiger was asked by Er..

If you don’t want to cry, then you definitely shouldn’t watch this epic Elton John commercial

We're still a week away from Black Friday, but the award for best Christmas commercial has already been, um, wrapped up. Congrats to. . . John Lewis & Partners? Wait, what the heck is that?!
RELATED: The best Super Bowl commercials every year since 1998
According to Wikipedia, John Lewis & Partners is not a law firm, but “a chain of high-end department stores operating throughout the United Kingdom.” So it's the Macy's of the UK, minus the Thanksgiving Parade? Got it. Anyway, that's not what's important here. What's important is that John Lewis & Partners partnered with Elton John (and some marketing genius) to create a gem of an ad that's deserving of an Oscar nomination for best short film.
There's a good chance you've seen it by now thanks to a bunch of celebrities sharing it on Twitter, but if you haven't, give it a watch. And better keep a box of tissues handy.

This Charlotte meteorologist has mastered all of Cam Newton’s craziest looks

When it comes to press conference drip, nobody's got it like Cam Newton. The Panthers quarterback is known almost as much for his post-game swag as his MVP award (you forgot he had one of those, didn't you?), making the truly absurd look almost reasonable on a weekly basis. But what would it be like if Cam were just an average, milquetoast dude and still wore shit like this?
FacebookPinterestTaylor HillWell thanks to Fox 46 meteorologist Nick Kosir—who has dedicated his non-doppler watching life to matching Newton look for look—we finally have the answer.
