A golf cart is not a dune buggy, which is why this one got stuck in a bunker at the Olympic Club

A golf cart in a bunker is something you’re more likely to see — if indeed you ever see it — at a ramshackle muny, not one of the finest golf courses in the country.
Yet the one shown above appears to be on the par-3 third hole of the Olympic Club’s Lake Course, 31st on Golf Digest’s latest ranking of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.
Rob Mulder, a PGA of America professional at nearby Lake Merced Golf Club, Tweeted the photo last week. We’re not sure when it occurred, because Mulder previously had been on the staff at the Olympic Club, in Daly City, Calif.
As Mulder noted in the Tweet, “Playing a different hole, slid down the hill; took their clubs and walked away.”

The Olympic Club sits on the side of a hill. The second fairway is above the third hole and the ground is often damp there, so it’s conceivable that once it began sliding, even the brakes weren’t capable of stopping it.

GOP candidate threatens to “stomp” on Pennsylvania governor’s face with golf spikes

The lead up to the 2018 mid-term elections has provided plenty of zany fodder from a brilliant political attack ad involving Big Foot to another in which the attack comes from a congressional candidate's own siblings. But now a less polished clip of a Pennsylvania Republican gubernatorial candidate has gone viral as well. And it might be the strangest of them all.
Scott Wagner didn't hold back when addressing Pennsylvania governor Tom Wolf in a Facebook Live video on Friday. And one threatening line to his opponent in particular caught everyone's attention.
“Well, Governor Wolf, let me tell you what, between now and Nov. 6, you better put a catcher’s mask on your face, because I’m going to stomp all over your face with golf spikes.”
Wallace didn't specify whether he meant metal or soft spikes, but he did add this:
“I’m going to win this for the state of Pennsylvania. And we’re throwing you out of office. Because I’m sick and tired of your negative ads. Governor Wolf..

On Thursday night, Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo had a prime chance at what would have been an extremely rare goal for the 21-year-old. In 162 career NHL games he has just six, the last of which came against the New Jersey Devils on March 4, 2017, 98 long games ago. But finally, here he was on the open TD Garden ice as the puck hit off the back board and glided directly to the tape of his stick, right on the face-off dot. Point and shoot Brandon, point and shoot …

Juuuuuust a bit outside.
This hilarious, straight-out-of-a-beer-league stumble came with 40 seconds to go, and it would be Carlo's only chance. The Bruins went on to tack on one more goal and win 4-1, but it didn't come from Brandon's stick. Sure, winning is nice, but Carlo had to be feeling a bit … empty on the inside.
FacebookPinterestCarlo's botched empty-netter got us think..
