JIM WATSONIt’s Ryder Cup time again. It’s America vs. Europe for all the marbles, and you’re sure as hell not going to sit there and sip on French wine or a Belgian dubbel as Tiger goes head hunting for every pin and Reed and Rory come to almost literal blows down the stretch on Sunday. You’re going to want the most damn American thing you can drink outside of a melted-down rocket pop, and that, my friends, is unquestionably whiskey. So join us as we crack five of the single most ‘Merica whiskeys you can buy this fall, featuring everything from Prohibition recipes to good old-fashioned Canadian camaraderie. Even if Team Europe does eventually come out on top, at least you can say you drank your part.

FacebookPinterestIronically enough, the defining moment in American spirit production was the outlawing of it. New techniques were forged, new trends emerged, and by the time Prohibition crumbled in 1933, America’s drinking culture was changed forever. To celebrate th..

Peak Anthony Kim, Ian Poulter discovers his powers and a bull-riding Boo Weekley: Revisiting the 2008 Ryder Cup
Harry How(Photo by Harry How/Getty Images)It was supposed to be a bloodbath, the 2008 Ryder Cup. The United States had lost three consecutive matches and five of the last six, and would be without its best player, Tiger Woods, who had missed the second half of the summer following knee surgery. The Americans had six rookies, only a handful of players who were considered in their prime and more than a couple journeymen. Moreover, the Europeans boasted a seemingly perfect alchemy of youth and experience, firepower and steady hands. It would be over before it started.
However, the players who would dress for the red, white and blue had other intentions that week, with the U.S. pulling off one of the bigger upsets in the history of the biennial event. From a bull dance to a downtrodden Nick Faldo to a star who never shined brighter, here's a look back at the 2008 Ryder Cup at Valhalla.

Watch Aaron Judge nearly decapitate Rays pitcher with vicious 110 mph line drive
Since returning from a wrist injury he suffered in late July, Aaron Judge hasn't exactly taken the cover off the baseball, and it would have been unfair to expect him to do so. In eight games he's had just five hits in 28 at-bats, none of them home runs. And while he's making plenty of contact, some have suggested he's lacking a bit of pop due to the lingering effects of the injury. Even though he said he wouldn't return until fully healthy, it's certainly in the realm of possibility that the New York Yankees brought him back a bit early with a playoff spot and home field in the wild card game on the line.

For those worrying Yankee fans, Judge provided a tiny sigh of relief on Tuesday night in Tampa, by ripping a 110 mph line drive right back at Rays pitcher Jake Faria. Faria, who has catlike reflexes, robbed Judge of a hit, and avoided what could have been an ..
