Kelvin Benjamin, Cam Newton attempt to squash beef prior to preseason game, appear to fail miserably

Earlier this week, former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, now a member of the Buffalo Bills, made some headlines when his comments about his former quarterback Cam Newton came to light in an interview with The Athletic. Despite enjoying a breakout year in his rookie season that saw him catch 73 balls for 1,008 yards and nine TDs, Benjamin called his time in Carolina “a bad fit from the get-go,” going on to say:
“If you would’ve put me with any other quarterback, let’s be real, you know what I’m saying? Any other accurate quarterback like [Aaron] Rodgers or Eli Manning or Big Ben — anybody! — quarterbacks with knowledge, that know how to place a ball and give you a better chance to catch the ball. It just felt like I wasn’t in that position.”
These were some interesting statements from a guy who seemed to thrive with Newton his first year, but perhaps the frustration of an injury in 2015, a subsequent down year in 2016 (he still had 941 yards and 7 TDs) and a trade to B..

Watch Stephen Curry hit the flagstick from deep, make golf look way too easy in tour event

Stephen Curry has made a career of making deep shots on the basketball court, but he's also pretty damn good from long range in his hobby. Teeing it up in the Web.com Tour's Ellie Mae Classic for a second straight year, Curry didn't quite knock down this shot from about 160 yards on his second-to-last hole, but he also almost knocked down the flagstick. Check it out:

This guy is making competitive golf look way too easy for a basketball player. Not that we're too surprised. Curry, whose Golden State Warriors won a third NBA title in four years in June, impressed in this event last year with a pair of 74s, and on Thursday, he did even better. Thanks in part to this late birdie, the two-time NBA MVP rallied from being four over par to shooting a one-over 71. Incredible.

PGA Championship 2018: John Daly’s St. Louis Cardinals pants are bold even for John Daly

Jamie SquireJohn Daly turned heads with his attire when he showed up to the 2018 PGA Championship champions dinner wearing a St. Louis Cardinals jacket. Turns out, he was saving the matching pants for Thursday's first round.
Long known for his loud outfits on the course, these pants were bold by even JD's standards. Check these crowd-pleasing bad boys out:

The pants aren't the only thing that have the crowds cheering on Daly during his opening round at Bellerive. The two-time major champ is rolling in putts from everywhere and is at even par through 12 holes.

PGA Championship 2018: PGA Tour pro gets brutally bad break on near hole-in-one

Bellerive Country Club hasn't been quite the pushover it was predicted to be on Day 1 of the 2018 PGA Championship. That being said, the actual hole isn't usually supposed to be one of a golf course's defenses. But Nick Watney found out the hard way that plastic can cause a pretty hard bounce.
Playing the par-3 13th hole (Watney's fourth hole of the tournament), the five-time PGA Tour winner hit what appeared to be a perfect shot from 180 yards — only it was a little too perfect. Instead of erasing two early bogeys with a slam dunk hole-in-one, Watney's golf ball caromed off/out of the cup and wound up off the green some 20 yards away. Take a look at this brutally bad break:

Ouch. We're surprised Verne Lundquist didn't let out an “In your life!” And as Dottie Pepper pointed out, “he doesn't even get credit for a green in regulation!”
But we're happy to report Watney was at least ..
