Jutanugarn sisters shoot for same goal differently in LPGA

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) Ariya and Moriya Jutanugarn play golf and live life differently.

The sisters from Thailand do have the same goal on the LPGA Tour, hoping their shot-to-shot focus leads to titles.

The Jutanugarns are two of six women with a shot at the Volvik Championship to become the circuit’s first two-time winner this year. The first round begins Thursday at Travis Pointe Country Club, a course six winners are skipping to prepare elsewhere for next week’s U.S. Open at Shoal Creek in Alabama.

”Everybody has a chance to win every weekend,” Moriya said. ”That’s how hard it is on tour right now.”

Ariya competes with a grip-it-and-rip-it approach, usually hammering a 3-wood off the tee.

Moriya takes a more calculated approach, analyzing each shot patiently.

That’s perhaps fitting because she’s 16 months older than her sister.

”It’s funny because when we think about something, it’s always the different,” she said. ”But we pretty much end up with t..

Morgan Freeman will be the voice of the Vancouver transit system this summer

NBCMorgan Freeman could read anything and we'd listen. The nutritional information on a box of Cheerios, IKEA assembly instructions, the collected tweets of Tomi Lahren. You name it and we'll be there, tweed jacket, legs crossed, hanging on every single syrupy syllable. Which is why we just sold our car, packed a pocket full of dreams, and booked flights to Vancouver, where Morgan Freeman is poised to become the voice of god Rain City's TransLink metro system.
FacebookPinterestNo, this is not a drill. For a limited time, Freeman will helm public service announcements on Vancouver's SkyTrain, urging customers to utilize the new “tap-to-pay” system on behalf of Visa (which we can only assume everyone will immediately obey.) Said announcements will include golden soliloquies like “Good news, Vancouver. Starting today, you can now tap your Visa to go anywhere TransLink takes you,” as well as pleasant morning greetings and etiquette reminders to not smoke or put your fee..

Watch Brian Dozier’s blast to deep center field somehow get stuck in the wall at Target Field

The odds of being struck by lightning twice might be better odds than pulling off what Brian Dozier did on Wednesday afternoon at Target Field. If that seems like an exaggeration, it's not. There's really no other way to explain this:
https://twitter.com/MattJ_Sports/status/999340077233852417
How!? Seriously, how? You have better odds of getting killed by a bear at Yellowstone National Park than wedging a baseball in the padding of the center field wall. Yes, I did Google “odds of (insert insane thing here)” a bunch of times until I found this list of “21 Things Things More Likely Than Dying In A Plane Crash” and the bear at Yellowstone National Park item really jumped off the page. In case you're wondering, it's a 1 in 2.1 million chance, and if you're that one person I feel like you definitely could have avoided being killed by the bear at Yellowstone National Park. Step 1: Don't go to Yellowstone National Park. Boom, problem solved.
Anyway, back to Dozi..

This is it, this is the worst golf swing (and shot) we’ve ever seen

Thanks to smartphones, and people who have a sense for the moment, we've been treated to some incredibly bad golf swing videos on social media. Many are a great reminder that some folks took that fantastic Arnold Palmer “Swing Your Swing” Dick's commercial as literally as possible.
RELATED: We need to talk about Michael Jordan's hideous golf swing
Last December there was that cringeworthy, twitchy swing from a Florida woman who actually got the ball airborne. A couple months earlier, another woman cranked one 200 yards with this absolutely insane move at the ball during a Web.com Tour Pro-Am. What you're about to see makes both of those swings and results look like Tiger's stinger hook at Sawgrass from two weeks ago.
Here's the video, posted by @mdgolfofficial, of a guy who is clearly not, shall we say… sober? I think that's a fair assumption:

Judge rules in favor of parents who sued their 30-year-old son to move out

Seemingly plucked from the script of a Judge Judy re-run, on Tuesday a New York judge officially evicted Michael Rotondo—age 30 of Camillus, NY—from his parents' home. Needless to say, if you thought your family was dysfunctional, you have nothing on the Rotondos.
According to court documents, the plaintiffs, Cristina and Mark Rotondo—Michael's parents—had been trying to convince their son to move out for months via a series of notes urging him to begin looking for job, get his busted car out of the driveway, and sell off his collection of weapons because not only did he need the money, but non-parental landlords don't take kindly to large weapon stockpiles for whatever reason. They even gave him $1,000 to help him find an apartment, but Michael, who has lived in the family home for eight years without contributing to expenses or even day-to-day chores, used the money for general expenses (read: new DLC content for The Witcher 3) instead of moving.
Eventually, after a on..

Watch Bubba Watson throw out first pitch, sing “Take me out to the Ballgame” at Wrigley Field

Bubba Watson’s dad wanted him to play baseball. Needless to say, sticking with golf instead during high school has worked out pretty well for the 10-time PGA Tour winner and two-time Masters champ.
It has also allowed him to carry on his love for the game he left behind. In 2015, Watson became part owner of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, an independent league team in his hometown, and his success on the course has led to multiple opportunities to throw out the first pitch at a number of stadiums across Major League Baseball.
Tuesday, Watson got the royal treatment at Wrigley Field. I mean, really, is there a better place to do so in all of baseball? (Full disclosure, I’m a longtime Cubs fan.)
https://twitter.com/Cubs/status/999063615981355010
Before the game, he posed for pics with the Cubs’ power trio of Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and Kyle Schwarber, then, instead of taking batting practice stuck with what he knows best and hit a few golf balls into the outfield (no need to hit them over ..

Banner calling for coaches to be fired flies over high school baseball game

If we've learned anything from LaVar Ball's parenting, it's always the coach's fault. No matter the level of competition or country — in the case of the Balls' failed foray in Turkey — you always blame the person calling the plays. But for all of Ball's bluster, one Westchester (N.Y.) town found a new way to publicly point the finger at a pair of high school baseball coaches. With a plane.

That's right, a plane towing a banner calling for two coaches to be fired flew over a Briarcliff High School baseball game on Tuesday. Have a look:

Just a tad, um, over the top, no?
“Yesterday's flyover served to highlight what can happen when adults lose perspective on high school sports,” Briarcliff schools superintendent Jim Kaishian told The Journal News/lohud.com. “In an attempt to promote self-interest, some adults become wi..
