This Gritty wedding cake is the most Philadelphia thing since Rocky and Cheez Whiz
We all love Gritty. The huggable Where the Wild Things Are reject has become the internet's de-facto bestie since bursting into the world last month, and now he is ready to give back. Instead of feeding all that affection to his ego, Gritty has chosen to spread it far and wide, beginning, of course, in his Crisco-poled hometown, where he (it?) has become the face of at least one very awesome wedding cake. You may now kiss giant, marmalade monster:

Deontay Wilder punches ESPN mascot, “accidentally” shatters his jaw
If you're not already acquainted with Deontay Wilder, there's a few things you should know: He's 40-0 with 39 KOs. He's held the WBC Heavyweight belt since 2015. He's has the ferocity of young Tyson. He's nine inches taller than young Tyson. He's pound for pound the scariest fighter in the game and has gone on record saying he wants “a body” on his record. We tell you all of this because Deontay Wilder is a fighter—just like Crawford, Joshua, and Lomachenko—you should know, but also because on Friday, while on the set of ESPN Deportes's ‘Nacion, he tee'd up an innocent mascot with a haymaker…and allegedly shattered his jaw. In other news, water is wet and if you mess with a bull, you eventually get the horns:

Serial golf ball thief arrested after swiping more than $10,000 worth of golf balls
Marcelo EndelliConnecticut residents can breath a bit easier these days. A serial golf ball thief has been arrested. Phew.
Joseph Kolenda, 58, turned himself into police after a search warrant executed at his home in August turned up more than 2,500 golf balls, according to Fairfield Citizen Online. Kolenda is currently out on $10,000 bail, which, ironically, is about the value of the golf balls he's stolen since 2017.

A police report says Kolenda stole 20,800 golf balls from the Patterson Club in Fairfield. And no, he didn't just horde them in his home. Kolenda sold the golf balls to a nearby driving range for 73 cents a pop.
Kolenda, who is expected to appear in court on Oct. 23, was caught when a Patterson Club member saw golf balls with the club's logo on them at the driving range. And after a detective investigated by buying a bucket of balls at the range — sounds like a fun assignment — it was easy to obtain where the range had purc..
LeBron James’ son has a pretty decent golf swing
LeBron James' son reputation continues to grow. Just a couple months ago, the 14-year-old's decision on where he'd play high school basketball grabbed national attention. And his impressive basketball talent has gone viral in social-media videos, showing his skills might one day be close to on par with his father's.
Where his skills apparently are not paralleled with his father is with a golf swing. Bronny (yes, he already has a recognizable one word nickname, evident of a potential star being born) posted a video of his golf swing over the weekend, and it isn't half bad—whereas LeBron James' swing is apparently not so good. Jason Day recently told our Brian Wacker: “I've seen him swing, and it looks terrible. Just awful.”
Bronny, meanwhile, looks like his athleticism might translate decently to golf—even while swinging in sandals.
