Tiger Woods is swinging a driver without pain, and his agent says doctors have cleared the former world No. 1 to practice without limitations.

Still to be determined is when Woods can play in a tournament.

”We haven’t even addressed when he comes back to play again. We have not addressed one thing,” said Mark Steinberg, Woods’ agent at Excel Sports Management. ”He wants to play this so conservatively.”

Steinberg said Woods received a ”good report” last week from doctors who performed fusion surgery on his lower back in April. Woods posted a video on Twitter on Oct. 7 of him hitting a smooth iron shot. Then on Sunday, Woods posted another video – in a red shirt, no less – hitting a driver.

”Making progress,” he tweeted.

Woods, whose last victory was four years ago at the Bridgestone Invitational for his record 18th World Golf Championships title, has not played since he withdrew from the Dubai Desert Classic on Feb. 3 because of back spasms.

(Photo by Andrew Redington/Getty Images)How much would you spend to play a round of golf with Phil Mickelson? Well, now you can put your money where your mouth is. And have your money go to a good cause.
A round of golf with the five-time major champ is up for auction on Charitybuzz.com and it's already drawn an opening bid of $50,000. However, the round (a foursome with Phil, plus lunch) at Mickelson's home course in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., is valued at $250,000.

There's an old saying that goes something like, “you see something new every time you go to a baseball game.” Well, fans definitely saw something they've never seen before at an NLCS game between the Dodgers and Cubs over the weekend.
Late in the game, a fan captured footage of a woman apparently being escorted from her seat behind home plate, and that woman happened to be retired porn star Mia Khalifa, who I've definitely never heard of before today.

Since we are dealing with an adult actress here, most of the 'reports', like the ones on Daily Star or Hot New Hip Hop, are based on conjecture. And the rumors are that the young lady in question punched a male fan in the face for trying to take a selfie with her. Khalifa, who I definitely do not follow on Twitter, quickly squashed the reports.

October is here, which means the “seasonal” aisle has gone from bikinis to broomsticks. There's plenty of time to think of the perfect costume, alas, a lot of costumes suck, either because they suck or because too many people “think” of them. And I don't mean the timeless ghosts, vampires, and sexy cats. I mean the cliche, corny, or crass costumes of contemporary pop culture. So please: Be kind to other partygoers. Don't embarrass your S.O. And don't be a Dick-in-a-Box guy.
So without much ado at all, here's a list of the Top 48 Most Popular Costumes of 2017. Some in particular order.

The solar eclipse: Probably someone wearing all black and shades.
“What are you?”
“I'm the eclipse.”
“Oh, snap!”
(Also, an eclipse wearing shades makes no sense. Eclipse shades makes even less sense.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) Fred Ridley recalls soaking up the ambience of Augusta National a week before his debut in the 1976 Masters as the U.S. Amateur champion. He was alone under the massive oak tree next to the clubhouse when he turned around and realized he had company.

Clifford Roberts, co-founder of the club and the first chairman of the Masters, was standing behind him.

”I kind of jumped and thought, `Oh God, what have I done?”’ Ridley said. ”We had a nice conversation. The interesting thing was, we were leaving and he says, `Now young man, you’re going to be playing in the Par 3 next Wednesday. You make sure you get some practice over there.’ He loved the Par 3. That was my recollection of the only conversation I had with him.”

Forty-one years later, Ridley is the seventh chairman in the 85-year history of Augusta National.

He took over Monday when the club re-opened for a new season.

Ridley, a 65-year-old business lawyer from Tampa, Florida, succeeds Billy Payne, who is re..

It has been quite the two-week stretch for Tyrrell Hatton. A week after breaking the course record at St. Andrews with a final-round 61 to defend his title at the Alfred Dunhill Links, Hatton made it back-to-back wins with his victory at the Italian Open on Sunday.
The Englishman shot a final-round 65 for the win. Oh, and it was Hatton's birthday this weekend, too. Who's had a better month than this guy?
So how did Hatton celebrate his latest feat? With a combined €1.666 million in event earnings—the equivalent of almost $2 million—you'd think the 26-year-old would choose an extravagant meal to mark the occasion.
Not for Hatton — the Italian Open champ kept it simple — dining at Burger King on Sunday night after the title, choosing a Whopper over a lobster.

We applaud Hatton for kicking it like an ordinary Joe. He surely won over some fans with that tweet. And we have a feeling the real celebration will come ev..

CARY, N.C. (AP) Colin Montgomerie is feeling even more confident entering the PGA Tour Champions playoffs.

Montgomerie earned his second victory in five weeks on Sunday, a three-stroke win at the SAS Championship. He shot a bogey-free, 8-under 64 in his final round at Prestonwood Country Club.

He earned $315,000 for his sixth career victory on the 50-and-over tour, and improved two spots to No. 7 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings in the tour’s regular-season finale.

The victory ”gives me a huge amount of confidence going into the playoffs, and I look forward to the next few weeks with added incentive now,” Montgomerie said.

The 54-year-old Scot finished at 16-under 200. He won the tour’s first-ever event in Japan – the Japan Airlines Championship – last month. The Hall of Famer won 31 times on the European Tour and topped the tour’s money list a record eight times – seven in a row from 1993-99 and the last in 2005.

Last Wednesday, I revealed my utter disdain for Halloween, triggered by these two grown men dressing like it was 1908 at the Cubs game, face paint and all. Adults dressing up on Halloween will never not creep me out.
HOWEVA, exceptions can be made, especially when it comes to this “White Men Can't Jump” costume from Oklahoma City Thunder teammates Russell Westbrook and Nick Collison, which is already the best Halloween costume of the year, and maybe of all time.

Nothing but respect for this attention to detail, they even got the girlfriends down to a T. Also helps when you're even more ripped then Wesley Snipes was in that movie.

Not sure if Collison and Russ have any acting background, but these pictures have sequel written all over them. Someone in Hollywood is dumb enough to do it, and most of us would be dumb enough to go see it.
