Bruce BennettOK, so let's start with the bad news. The New Jersey Devils stink like a New Jersey Superfund site. After a promising 2017/18 resulting in a playoff berth, the Devils have regressed to the mean and then some, sitting dead last in the Metropolitan Division in late February. The good news? Somehow they still convinced mythical Seinfeld b-character and noted Devils maniac David Puddy to come back, take his shirt off, and scream “THE DEVILSSSS” until his larynx gives out as part of their annual '90s Night-palooza-a-thon. Hey, gotta support the team (even if it does end up strip mining every last morsel of happiness from your soul.)

Patrick Warburton—no, David Puddy is not his real name—has been doing this on and off since 1995, but this year included a very awesome first for both Warburton and the beleaguered Devils fans who still bothered to drag their corpses to the Prud on a Wednes..

John Tortorella was extremely, disgustingly honest when asked why his star player was out
We haven't exactly been coy about our love for John Tortorella here at The Loop. Few NHL coaches provide the content he does on a regular basis, and we could never thank him enough for it. His blunt honesty is always refreshing, and often unintentionally hilarious. This once though, it'd have been a lot less gross had he not been so honest.

With the trade deadline looming, rumors have swirled around Columbus Blue Jackets star Artemi Panarin. Panarin, who is tied for 15th in the NHL in points, hits free agency this off-season, and he's as good as gone. But before that happens, plenty of teams still see him as an intriguing rental for the remainder of this year, so naturally there is plenty of speculation about where he'll end up within the next five days. That's why when it was announced he'd be held out of Tuesday night's game against the Montreal..

Little Yankees fan never wanted Manny Machado anyway thank you very much
A “cute” Yankees fan is a bit of an oxymoron. “Cute” requires a certain degree of blithe innocence that you simply can't attain when you're born into such opulence, sipping apple juice upon velvet upholstery while counting rings you've never seen. That said, if there were ever a pint-sized pinstriper to push the limits of this paradox, it would have to be this kid, who skyrocketed to the top of the internet Hot 100 after offering his thoughts on Manny Machado's reported $300-million-dollar move to the Padres on Tuesday afternoon. Take it away, buddy.

Suffice to say, this kid has some serious moxie. Unfortunately his premise—that certain players are simply off-limits to certain teams based on history/rivalry/general likeability—doesn't hold water coming a Yankees fan. This is EXACTLY what the Yankees have always done. If they can't beat 'em, they buy 'em (see: Damon and Ellsbury), and the more d..

The best Tiger Woods highlight from the Genesis Open arrives late, but better than never
Tiger Woods had an up-and-down weekend at the Genesis Open, winding up T15 without ever really challenging at his own tournament. Despite the middling finish and spotty weather, however, Tiger fans and stans certainly still found a few hooks to hang their hopes on ahead of majors season, including a trio of eagles across rounds two and three that saw Woods doing what he has failed to do far too often over the past half decade: Take advantage of par 5s. These blasts from the past had Tiger's gallery so fired up, that some were even promising to post the footage on Insta before the putts even made it hole. Optimistic you say? Not when have the Big Cat swinging the axe:

The best part, though, isn't the putt (and definitely not the Blair Witch-inspired camera work), but Tiger's response: A full-blooded point straight at the filmer that practically screams “POST IT.” It's no “GO GET THAT,” but it's a legit boss ..
